Savannah and Mitchell's paths first crossed in the hallowed halls of New Glasgow Junior High in 2009. Despite spending their entire junior high years in close proximity, their formal introduction only happened when one of Savannah's friends started dating Mitchell. He became a regular lunchtime presence, friendly and good for a joke, but already spoken for. Savannah, with her eyes set on other teenage crushes, was just grateful for another potential new pal. Throughout high school, their paths meandered, Mitchell always spoken for, and Savannah navigating the murky waters of teenage romance. Mitchell would tease and torment Savannah, and Savannah chastised and eye-rolled at Mitchell, remaining steadfast friendly acquantainces until graduation.
Fast forward to 2013, where Savannah and Mitchell found themselves reunited in the treacherous terrain of first-year economics at StFX. Mitchell became Savannah's much-needed tutor, thanklessly talking her through the twists and turns of supply and demand (which she still doesn't understand). In a "brief window" where Savannah was single, as Mitchell describes it, he took his chance, and asked Savannah out on a real date.
The real date, in question, was playing a game of Reball - an indoor alternative to Paintball, running around a room shooting each other with small rubber paint-less pellets. Mitchell shot Savannah in the butt, on purpose, and have been two idiots in love ever since.
Finally, in October 2014, after subtly dancing around each other and their feelings, they decided to make it official. The rest, as they say, is history—a history filled with two adorable kittens, a couple of apartments, surviving a global pandemic with humour as their armour, purchasing their first home, navigating through career leaps, and life, hand in hand.
Now, almost a decade later, Savannah and Mitchell are ready to take the plunge into the next chapter of their adventure. Through ups, downs, and countless laughs, they invite you to join them in celebrating their love. So, grab a seat, raise a glass, and let's toast to the journey that brought them here, and the exciting chapters yet to unfold.

The day Mitchell proposed to Savannah, they both had Covid-19, and didn’t even know it. It was November 10th, 2022, and Savannah was, as usual, complaining about being hungry. Mitchell, already having a proposal plan in motion, suggested that they go to Mother Webb’s in Antigonish, near their alma mater, St. Francis Xavier University. Begrudgingly, knowing the car ride would take a while, and it would be at least and hour before there would be food in front of her, Savannah agreed.
As they approached Antigonish, Mitchell suggested that the couple take a stroll across campus for old times sake, while he plugged in his electric car. Savannah, now even more hungry (and cranky), agreed, but didn’t understand why the walk and charging couldn’t wait until after they’d eaten something.
They walked all over campus, starting through the student union building, where Savannah had worked for the campus radio station, and by Bloomfield Café, home of the Rita Wrap, as well as The Inn, where they’d spent many Wing Nights together. They made their way past the residences, recounting memories with friends and places they’d lived, until they finally started making their way back to the parking lot.
Walking along the sidewalk, Savannah reached over to hold Mitchell’s hand, and he swatted it away. She wondered for a moment if her cranky attitude had annoyed him. She had, after all, been whining for the entire walk. But, the thought disappeared quickly as they walked up to the front of O’Regan Hall, and Mitchell got down on one knee. All thoughts of food (mostly) fell out of her head, and she barely let him finish before saying yes.
