On the first day of a new bartending job, I met the girl I was going to marry. She, however, was apprehensive at first about even talking to me. I introduced myself on my first day to this "co-worker" and she sort of blew me off. She warmed up to me (I mean who wouldn't.) After a few weeks of working together, I ended up with an extra ticket to my friend's show at the Orpheum Theater. I sarcastically asked Alexis if she'd like to come with and she ended up saying yes.

This turned out to be one of a million dates. At first, neither of us viewed it as a date, but after a full night out on the town it started to feel like one. We went our separate ways, but from then on hung out ALL the time. I mean ALL the time. So much so that my roommates at the time sarcastically asked when she was going to start paying rent.

Since then we've grown up a ton together. We've grown through a pandemic, hospital stays, moving across the country, and the "I got a dog" text. Through all that she's loved me unconditionally and I couldn't be more grateful.

The two of us have a common love for food and a good drink. I mean we did meet working at a bar called Bacon Social House. We've eaten our way together across the country and hopefully soon the whole world. We've been to what feels like every single restaurant in the city of Minneapolis and Scottsdale. I don't see that stopping any time soon.

Alexis is the most caring and compassionate person I know who will do anything for the people in her life. She's had a positive impact on me in a ton of ways but one that really sticks out is changing me from someone who would throw up at the thought of sushi to a chill guy who can't live without it.
