Our Wedding

Our story begins at Orion Oaks Dog Park in Orion Twp, MI. Unbeknownst to us at the time, we were both living in the same apartment complex with our dogs and visited the same local park where we often went to let our dogs socialize and play. We had met and spoken briefly a few times while our dogs played together at the park, but little did we know that this would be the place where our love started. The spark that set things in motion happened one night while Kyler was gone. His dog Yuna, had amazingly escaped her cage, opened the sliding door to his apartment, and let herself out for a little stroll around the complex. After getting home and realizing she managed to escape he grabbed her leash and her favorite ball hoping they would attract his little Houdini and set out to find her. Meanwhile, Mizeya was getting off from a serving shift at the local Applebee's and making her way home. As Ky walked up the sidewalk to the front of the complex, she pulled in and recognized him. She stopped to ask if Yuna had gotten out, seeing the leash with no dog at the end of it, and he responded helplessly with a "yeeeaaahhh....". Without hesitation she quickly parked her vehicle and offered to help look for her. As we walked and talked while scouring the complex and nearby neighborhood we got to know a bit about the other. Unfortunately, Yuna was not found that night, but Mizeya did shared her phone number with Kyler, and told him she'd help him look for Yuna the next day. Thankfully, Yuna was found and all was well again. After that night they stayed in touch, planning visits to the dog park so Faygo and Yuna had a buddy to play with, and that quickly created a bond between the two. They eventually started going on dogs walks together throughout the complex and some nearby trails, getting more familiar with each passing day. This easily became routine for them, walking several times a week and never running out of things to talk about. Not long after, Kyler introduced Mizeya to his group of friends that he went on weekend hikes with and she immediately became a part of the group. Thanks to the many amazing groups of people Kyler surrounded himself with, Mizeya was quickly adopted and everyone could see the way they brought the best out of one another. Although things picked up speed relatively quickly, they wouldn’t have had it any other way. When you know, you know! Three years after meeting, Kyler and Mizeya had gone through career changes together and traveled out-of-state for vehicles, festivals with friends, and even birthday celebrations! They were able to buy a house thanks to Ky's brief time in real estate and also introduced two kitties (Kashi &amp; Guy) into their lives to help fill the new home. Presently, they’ve been excitedly taking on the roles of DIY home owners who’ve had amazing help from both family and friends. With a full house and all their achievements thus far, they were able to feel like their future was falling into place. There was only one thing missing… On November 4th 2023, Kyler took Mizeya to that same park where they first met, got down on one knee, and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him while their families and puppers stood nearby and watched. (SPOILER ALERT!) SHE SAID YES! On an ending note, we could not have made it this far without the love and support of every family member and friend we’re so blessed to have. Thanks to you all, we were able to find love and happiness with each other and will forever be grateful for your everlasting support. We truly love and appreciate every last one of you. Now, let's get this party started!

If you read Our Story, John was one of the friends in the group Ky first invited Mizeya to go on a hike with. The first real conversation that John and Mizeya had was about the positions on a volleyball court. There would be a lot of volleyball playing to follow! Without fail, John will find a way to sneak in a whitty comment on any given topic, and with his never-ending puns and charismatic personality, it was a no brainer to have him seal the deal for the bride and groom!

The bride and groom initially met Belle and her boyfriend, Ben, at Summer Camp in 2021. From there, Mizeya and Belle found many common interests but the best of all? Mizeya finally found someone who can also be late to everything with her :) Belle is best known for her eclectic personality and can turn a party like no other! She's got a real eye for fashion and a never ending supply of knowledge. Belle makes up one half of the MOH crew!

The bride and groom knew of Becca thanks to mutual friends but became more acquainted when they officially met at Summer Camp 2021 (This was a good festival for everyone that year). Mizeya and Becca can be found watching their favorite shows and snacking on a wide variety of comfort foods, even more so now that they live 5 minutes away from each other! Becca is known for her very kindhearted and munificent personality! Becca makes up the other half to the MOH crew!

Sister of the bride, Miranda and Mizeya have a 7 year age gap between them. Due to this, Mizeya definitely ratted Miranda out more times than she can count. Now, they laugh at all the shared memories of their same, but also very different, upbringings. They have grown especially close after Miranda brought two beautiful kids into the world who Mizeya gets to call her niece and nephew.

As the bride's niece, Elisia made Mizeya an aunt at the ripe age of 12 and with very similar personalities, they butted heads like sisters. It also doesn't help their birthdays are six days apart. As she's grown, Elisia has become a caring and artistic soul with enough fire in her to still make her a Chacon. She's a great older sister to her brother, Jessie, and a big lover of animals (Just like her Tia!!)

Ben has been friends with the groom for the last 17 years. They met in youth group, and although they weren’t friends right away, they soon found friendship that would only continue to strengthen as time went on. Going through their late teens, early 20’s and now into their 30’s, Ky and Ben grew together from young adults to men with families of their own. Ben was an easy choice to have stand up as Ky’s Best Man.

David has also known the groom for 17 years. The two met at their first job together where David’s sister also worked and had introduced them. After long the two were inseparable, playing COD Black Ops 2 and eating Taco Bell Flatbread $5 Boxes together. David and Kyler spent many years jamming to music in their cars, playing volleyball, and going through the experiences of life together. Eventually he’d play a big part in Mizeya and Kyler getting together, which now leads him to standing up as Kyler’s best man. David, like Ben, was an easy choice for the role. Faced with a decision between his two closest friends, Kyler chose the only logical option: Make them both his Best Men!
