On a crisp Easter Sunday morning, two ladies took a chance - they'd both swiped right and now it was time to see if the other was as great in person as they were on paper.

One from Illinois, one from California, both now in Wisconsin and hoping that April 17, 2022 would be the beginning of a forever journey (spoiler alert: it was).

These two are, of course, Courtney and Moey.

A week before the date: Moey had just decided to give Bumble one last try before deleting the app (because she's particular about who/what she likes and kept running out of potential matches); Courtney was reluctant to even try online dating again, but a great friend told her, Just get back on the apps!

When Moey matched with Courtney, she felt a warm buzz of hope among the butterflies in her stomach.

Apparently, her first message about Courtneys dogs was basically enough for marriage (but, that's not happening until May 2, 2026).

Online conversations led to texts, which led to a phone call, which led to them eventually meeting on Easter morning for an in-person, real life, breakfast date. While many families gathered around to hunt easter eggs and attend church services, Moey & Courtney sat across one another at Luke's Cafe in McFarland, Wisconsin (a restaurant picked because of their mutual love for Gilmore Girls and all things breakfast).

Laughter, nerves, and excitement were all present during the 4 hour long date (yeah, four hours). They even shared a story of fate: In 2020, Courtney was told by a psychic that, Atlanta, Georgia will appear a lot in your future. However, it'd been years and there hadn't been a sign... until now.

As Courtney reluctantly shared this story, California-raised Moey, laughed as she pointed out that her cell phone number was one that she picked up while in Georgia on the way to the Atlanta airport. Well, that shock left a twinkle in Courtneys eye.

In the coming years, more instances of the city and state would come up, alongside chili cookoffs, parties, holidays, and countless dates (with and without dogs).

Since that breakfast date was the best they both had ever had, it made sense that Courtney would bring Moey back to Lukes Cafe to propose in November 2024. On the way there, Moeys eyes were shut because this dinner was supposed to be a surprise; as she opened them and looked around the dark parking lot and seemingly closed restaurant, she thought to herself, I'm pretty sure this is how people end up murdered, but Im gonna follow her anyway. But, luckily, this isn't a true crime story.

As they stepped inside, the restaurant wasn't closed, the flickering of candlelight shone warmly against the darkness of night. Making an exception and opening only for the special party of two, Lukes owners created a stunning breakfast for the unique couple. Once mimosas were poured and memories of how that restaurant was the home of their beginning, Courtney got down on one knee and asked to be with Moey forever.

Now, Moey & Courtney are on the adventure of a lifetime and starting another chapter together on May 2, 2026.
