A beautiful hillside space where you can hike trails, play frisbee golf or relax and take in the view that appears on the Ohio State Seal, the sun rising between Sugarloaf Mountain and Sand Hill, an absolutely stunning park just minutes from the hotels.
The site where Thomas Worthington spotted the great view of Sugarload Mountain which inspired his design for the Great Seal of Ohio State.
The ultimate outdoor drama experience... also our original idea for a wedding location. We reserved a group rate for Friday August 30, if you're interested just let us know, you really want to see this. We are having our rehearsal dinner there bc it's super amazing, I swear it!
No fee to enter, open daily 8:30am-5:00pm. This is a really interesting sight to see. There are multiple native mounds around town but I would start here. Earthen mounds and embankments forming huge geometric enclosures grace the landscape of the Ohio River Valley. These monumental structures were built by Native American hands almost 2,000 years ago. Hopewellian people gathered at these earthworks for feasts, funerals and rites of passage. Come learn about these sacred spaces and reflect upon the lives of these American Indians.
