In Moira's words...
Russell and I matched on hinge as I was flying out to Montana to visit the cottage girls in February of 2021. After a bit of messaging on the app, a few texts & a surprise FaceTime (I called him), we planned our first date for the following Friday to get drinks after I got off from work. We spent 5 hours together that night and although I didn't love his voice, I knew I wanted to get to know him more. The next day, Russell texted me at 11am asking if I had plans and if I wanted to go to Costco... very strange... but I said yes and we had the best day! I had my first Costco hotdog, we rode the National Harbor ferris wheel and ended the day playing a putt-putt game in my parking garage (I won!). I knew pretty early that I was falling in love with Russell - he was so wonderfully different. He is an incredible listener, always intentional with his words, the goofiest nerd that makes me laugh so hard, and the most loving man. I cannot wait to marry him and begin this new chapter together!
In Russell's words..
Moira and I matched on hinge and she decided to drunk dial me on Valentine's day of 2021. High risk moment there. I answered and she got to see me doing laundry (very sexy I know). About a week or so later, we went our first date where I picked her up from work in my car, she hugged me, and then her first words were "my roommate knows my location, so you can't kill me." Quite romantic indeed.
I think it's safe to say that I never had ill-intentions, and in fact want quite the opposite. As I'm sure you probably know by now: Moira went ring shopping with her friend Sammy in September, and placed a jeweler business card on my desk and told me "Whenever you're ready."
Little did she know that I was slowly turning that page to be "ready."
Our relationship started like any others, with some fun and awkwardness (she didn't like my voice at first), to casual dates to Costco for hotdogs. All in all, I've seen nothing but kindness in her eyes, the way she greets anyone and everyone with complete and total love, and just smiles naturally that could light up a room.
There is no act, there is no facade, it's all just a genuine Moira. I can't wait for her to bring me a business card of a dog or 2 next! I love her though, we're grateful to have you read our stories!
