Do you believe in fate or love at first sight or think love could never be as great as it’s portrayed in a Nicholas sparks novel? Neither did I…. Until I met Jackson.
In the words of the great Judy Davis from White Christmas, “ you can’t leave everything up to fate, just like honesty needs a little plus and fate needs a little push”. Our push came when we first met at our best friends wedding shower. There was plenty of magic happening behind the scenes by two of the most special people in our lives that said months before we met that “Mollie and Jackson would be a great match”. They were right!
Jackson and I had our first date at a sushi restaurant in Burlington which is half way between Greensboro and Raleigh. It was pretty funny trying to talk with mouths full of sushi. After dinner we didn’t want the night to end so we went to see a movie where he quickly learned that I always have to have a popcorn, slushee and cookie dough bites in order to see a movie.
Jackson and I have always loved going to our sporting events together( go heels) and getting to know each others friends and family! After many dates and fun weekends together with our Grizzly we started officially dating.
On one particular weekend in Oak Island we took a trip over to the OKI lighthouse where we sat watching the stars, drinking a coors light and that’s when Jackson and I first said I love you to each other. As our relationship grew so did our love.
As fate would have it and the good Lord, we went back to that same light house on January 21st on a brisk morning and Jackson got down on one knee and proposed in the same place that we first said I love you! Of course I said yes and now here we are. We can’t wait to get married and celebrate with all our amazing friends and family. See you all soon. Cheers!
