Derek and Mollie's friend groups merged in the Spring semester of Mollie's Senior year of college. Although Derek doesn't believe it, Mollie had no idea who he was.

After successfully getting Mollie's number, Derek convinced her to visit North Dakota after she swore she would never come back after graduation.

On her second visit to North Dakota that summer, she attended her first wedding as Derek's date. The first of MANY wedding dates they would have together.

Mollie got to experience her first North Dakota State Fair that summer with Derek as her official fair expert. Derek asked her to officially be his girlfriend at the Old Dominion concert that night.

Before long, Mollie's Florida moving date was upon them. Thus the many, many, MANY hours of calls and FaceTime dates began.

They still visited each other.

Anytime Mollie had enough PTO saved up.

Or when Derek had a break from school.

After a total of 10 months long distance, Mollie packed her car and signed off on her lease in Florida. Derek had flown down and this time he wasn't leaving without her.

The pair were finally able to put down their phones and enjoy each other's company. They are able to now look back and laugh at the journey that got them to where they are now.

Derek proposed at Double Ditch Indian Village overlooking the river at sunset. Stating that this was the easiest decision he has ever had to make.
