Molly & Caleb

June 1, 2024 • Long Beach, CA

Molly and Caleb met surprisingly on Tinder. In Molly's profile she had "dogs > cats" and Caleb's first message to her was "you're right, dogs are better than cats". Well, if your first line is telling a girl she's right, how can she resist?

Their first date might not have started out the best. Caleb was late and Molly thought she was being stood up. Thankfully, he finally arrived. They talked for a while on the patio of Ballast Point Brewery and they learned they had many things in common. They both have younger sisters that are 8 years apart from them, Cassidy (Molly's sister) and Kelsey (Caleb's sister). Caleb's birthday is the day before Molly's dad's (Greg) and Molly's birthday is just two days after Kelsey's. They also discovered they both love Star Wars, The Office and board games.

Feeling a connection growing, they decided to go have dinner at Molly's favorite Italian restaurant Domenico's. (Which Caleb now loves as well.) At the end of the night they went back to their cars where Caleb bravely made the first move and kissed Molly. If you know Molly this next part won't surprise you... as she went to get in her car, full of butterflies and excitement, she hit her head on the door jam of her car. Caleb pretended not to see it, but like the gentleman, he is he texted her later to make sure she was okay. She was, but a little embarrassed he saw it happen.

Over the next three months, yes that long, Caleb and Molly continued to go on dates and get to know each other better. On the day before Molly left on a week long work trip to Canada, he asked her out on a date to the Redondo Beach Pier. (This is important.) Caleb was planning to ask Molly to be his girlfriend on the pier BUT he chickened out. Later that night at his house he finally asked her, to which she replied, "Are you joking with me?" Then she looked into his eyes and realized he was serious and said, "Yes!"

Everything between then and now is filled with laughter, adventures, learning, growing, and love. They've spent lots of time with each other's families and friends, developing meaningful relationships with each person. Caleb has started to gain Molly's love of travel and theater while Molly has become a bigger sports fan, even learning to like WWE.

Now the good part. The engagement. They had already lived together for two years and knew marriage was next. 2022 was already a busy year filled with love, as Molly's grandma, Barbara, got married and her mom Becci's wedding was on the horizon. And because of this, Caleb knew he would have to make his move soon. (How he pulled this off without Molly knowing still remains a mystery and he doesn't want her to know his secrets in case he wants to surprise her again.)

The week before Becci's wedding, Caleb's plans were set. He convinced Molly there was a work dinner for his company down on the Redondo Beach Pier. Sound familiar? When they got down to the restaurant, Caleb said, "We're early, let's walk down the pier". Cold from the wind, Molly said, "Okay but not too far, it's freezing". As they walked past the restaurant, further down the pier Molly stopped dead in her tracks. She saw her grandma's hair in the distance. Then she knew and started to cry. Caleb pulled Molly forward to the railing of the pier and ever so slyly said, "Now you can't say I chickened out on the pier". He got down on one knee, Molly began sobbing, and the crowd literally went wild! People on the pier and in the restaurant were cheering and both Molly and Caleb's families came running over to congratulate them. It was a night to remember (ask them about what happened at the engagement dinner).

Caleb and Molly are beyond excited to have you at their wedding. A day they know will be filled with love, joy, laughter and dancing! Thank you for being part of their story and sharing in this life changing moment with them.
