Q + A

What date should I RSVP by?

We kindly ask you to please RSVP no later than September 13, 2025. We need to give a final headcount to the venue to allow them adequate time to prepare for this special day.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Weather-permitting, we plan on having our ceremony outdoors. However, if it rains, there is a back-up plan to have the ceremony indoors. The cocktail-hour will be both indoors & outdoors based on the venue and the reception will be indoors.

Are there reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?

Currently, we only have one room block setup with the Courtyard Newark, located right by the University of Delaware. However, there are several other hotels in the area that are close to our venue.

What is the dress code for our wedding?

We kindly ask that you follow a semi-formal dress code. We ask that you wear semi-formal attire such as a cocktail-length dress or dressy separates for women and a suit and tie for men.

Are there any colors or styles you'd prefer me to wear?

As long as you follow the dress code (semi-formal attire), please feel free to wear whatever color or style that you feel comfortable in. The only thing we ask is that you REFRAIN from wearing dusty rose, dusty blue, navy blue, champagne/ivory, & white because these are the colors of the bridal party.

What is the weather like in the area?

The weather can be a bit unpredictable. It is a fall wedding, so we are hoping for the perfect "fall" weather. However, this time of year it could either be really hot or really cold, so just be prepared. In the fall around here, we tend to have climate changes throughout the day.... ie the morning may be super cold, followed by the mid-afternoon being super hot, and then finally cooling off in the evening. Unfortunately, weather is one of those things that we can't predict around here.

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Unfortunately, we're on a tight budget and have limited space, so we simply can't afford for all of our lovely guests to bring a guest of their own. Plus ones are therefore by invitation only and we ask other guests to please not bring a plus one. Thank you so much for understanding!

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Due to guest number restrictions, we are only able to extend the invite to the children of close family/or our wedding party.

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

There will be hors d'oeuvres served during cocktail hour--as well as a few display stations. The main meal consists of an appetizer, an entree, and a few dessert options.

Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies?

Yes, when you RSVP please indicate any dietary restrictions or allergies that you may have so that we can let the venue know in advance so they can plan accordingly.

Will there be an open bar?

YES! There will be an open bar. We are covering the cost of the alcohol, we want everyone to have a good time & have fun celebrating with us.

What is the wedding day itinerary?

Wedding Ceremony: starts @ 3:30 pm Cocktail Hour: 4:00 pm-5:00 pm Reception: 5:00 pm-9:00 pm

What time should I arrive at your ceremony?

Our ceremony starts @ 3:30 pm. We kindly ask that you arrive by 3:15 pm as to not disrupt or delay the start of the wedding. There is parking available at our venue, so please plan accordingly.

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

We kindly ask that you refrain from taking pictures during the Wedding Ceremony. We have paid a lot of money for a professional photographer & we want to ensure he is able to get the best shot possible.

What is your wedding hashtag?

#WishingOnWeidner Please share any photos you take during cocktail hour or the reception and include our hashtag so we can see all the lovely photos that you all may take.
