Our Wedding

Our story started with basketball, mutual friends, and a moment that neither of us saw coming (well… one of us was definitely watching more closely). We first crossed paths through mutual friends, but it wasn’t until a Southwestern basketball game that everything changed. Kyler was down on the court, coaching with his usual intensity and passion, and I was up in the stands—supposedly watching the game, but really watching him. Something about the way he carried himself immediately caught my attention. I went directly to social media and started stalking all the other coaches that I knew to figure out who he was. Turns out, we were practically the same person. Once we started talking, it felt like wed known each other forever. We had the same sense of humor, the same energy, and the same way of seeing the world. Everything felt easy, natural, and like it was meant to be. The proposal? A total plot twist. Kyler took me out to his grandpa’s property in the woods, under these gorgeous pine trees, claiming we needed to check out an “intruder.” (being forced to leave the weapons at home) I was genuinely convinced someone had wandered out there to propose after seeing the set-up—and I was weirdly invested in this random couple’s big moment… until I realized it was our moment. Kyler got down on one knee, and just like that, my forever started in the middle of the woods, surrounded by trees and laughter. Spoiler: I said yes. (And I’m still laughing about how confused I was.)

National Comedy Center

From Chautauqua County to neighboring northern Pennsylvania, Lake Erie Wine Country features 20 wineries nestled along the eastern shoreline of Lake Erie. This is not only the largest grape-growing region east of the Rockies but, Chautauqua County also happens to be the largest grape-cultivating county outside of California! In fact, about 65% of New York State’s annual grape harvest comes from Chautauqua County and is used in products sold in more than 35 countries worldwide. Each of the 20 member wineries has its own unique tastes, character and atmosphere, welcoming wine lovers all year round. There are a wide variety of wines to experience making a visit to Lake Erie Wine Country a must for wine connoisseurs or travelers interested in great tasting experiences, lasting memories, and gorgeous vineyard vistas.

There are two 4-star rated public golf courses on the grounds of the Chautauqua Institute. Chautauqua Golf Clubs Lake Course and Hill Course both offer scenic golfing, challenging play and are maintained in the Chautauqua spirit with environmental stewardship. There are several more public additional courses close to Chautauqua Harbor Hotel. These include Bemus Point Golf Club & Tap House which opened in 1893 and is the oldest golf course in the area, Peek ’n Peak Resort where you can take on the longest course in the area and South Hills Country Club that is located in near by Jamestown, NY.
