John’s ankle had recovered and Summer had arrived. He asked Molly when he could come up to see her again. She said they were traveling to Brooklyn for a friend’s birthday that coming Saturday and he could come up and visit for the weekend. John was nervous about meeting Molly’s friends solo and for a birthday celebration no less. This is probably why he got very drunk at Idle Hour the night before and nearly missed the train to travel to the city the following day but nevertheless he made it. Not only did he make it but he was drenched in sweat from walking the six or seven blocks from the subway station to Molly’s apartment. The good news is it only takes about an hour and a half to travel from the Upper East Side to Brooklyn via subway so John did not sweat that much the rest of the day (*sigh*). It was all worth it though to spend the weekend with Molly. For the remainder of the summer, Molly and John would take turns traveling to see each other on the weekends. As with most summer romances, August came and a decision needed to be made: Is this for real or is this for fun? Molly and John had decided this was for real and officially became boyfriend and girlfriend.
