Also recommend using the Cleveland Park Metro Stop when going TO the zoo, and walking downhill to the zoo entrance; then recommend using the Woodley Park/Zoo Metro Stop when leaving the zoo because you'll keep walking downhill from the zoo to the metro stop.

Can be accessed directly from the Green Metro Line; get on at Navy Yard and take the metro in the Greenbelt direction to the Gallery Place/Chinatown stop.

This is a ~25 minute walk from the Residence Inn, or take the Green line metro (Greenbelt direction) to L'Enfant Plaza, transfer to Blue/Orange/Silver in the Largo/New Carollton/Largo direction and get off at Federal Center SW and walk ~7 minutes to the garden.
