Our Wedding

By: Jake Witte Molly and Jake met their Sophomore year at Saint Louis University through their mutual friend Claire. Before then, Molly had always known Jake as “Buzzcut kid” due to the wonderful haircuts Jake used to receive from his Dad.. Throughout that winter, Molly and Jake quickly became closer and closer. From singing Tom Petty’s “Free Falling” at a local karaoke bar to enjoying a very expensive first date at Jake’s favorite restaurant (Old Town Donuts), the two created a bond that would not go away. Molly and Jake’s story continued into the spring of their Sophomore year as they had the privilege of experiencing Europe together while they studied abroad in Spain. Molly luckily had a fairly easy schedule abroad taking Nursing classes such as pharmacology while Jake had a bit more difficult of a schedule taking tough accounting courses such as History of Spanish Art and Oceanology. Even with busy schedules and living an hour apart, Molly and Jake always found time for each other. Whether it was discovering new restaurants, bars and towns or simply finding time to study together, their special bond continued to grow across the pond. After a great experience abroad, Molly and Jake came back to St. Louis and saw their relationship flourish around friends and family. Whether it was road trips, family vacations, baseball games or events on SLU’s campus, they were always together building their relationship. The two always did their best to have fun while also focusing hard on their studies and supporting each other throughout their young careers. This eventually led to their jobs out of college at St. Louis Childrens Hospital and Deloitte respectively. As the couple began their careers they realized as long as they had each other adult life wasn’t all that bad. On October 7th, 2022 Jake got down on one knee and asked Molly to marry him. What Molly thought was just an evening riding the boats at Forest Park with family (ok maybe she knew what was going on) turned out to be a special night surrounded by friends and family that they will remember for the rest of their lives.
