In preparation for our upcoming trip to Napa, we made plans to do a little South End wine tour to ready our palettes. We had done a similar tour the year before through Boston City Wine Tours, but this year we thought we would create our own tour. Starting at the Butcher Shop, where we sipped Rose and sampled some charcuterie, we then meandered to Union Bar and Grille, and ended our tour at Stella. Molly was pretty hungry at this point, and was eager for dinner at Toro, as planned.

As we walked toward our dinner destination, Mike suggested a short detour through a park where we often walk and picnic. It was a nice night, so Molly acquiesced. As we approached one of the park benches, Mike pointed out a setup of champagne flutes, and mini champagne bottles on ice, and suggested that we make it the next stop on our wine tour. Molly quickly dismissed the idea, as the setup was obviously meant for someone else. Fortunately, Mike persuaded her to stay, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him. She said yes (exclamation point!); we sipped champagne (deposited there by Molly's brother Tim at Mike's request) to commemorate the moment. From there, we headed to PICCO, where both our families were waiting to join in the celebration. Molly was very surprised! It was a perfect evening!
