Matt&nbsp;and&nbsp;I&nbsp;met&nbsp;early&nbsp;Feb&nbsp;2016.&nbsp;I&nbsp;had&nbsp;just&nbsp;returned&nbsp;home&nbsp;from&nbsp;a&nbsp;mission&nbsp;trip&nbsp;to&nbsp;Uganda&nbsp;and&nbsp;had&nbsp;just&nbsp;lost&nbsp;my&nbsp;grandma&nbsp;while&nbsp;I&nbsp;was&nbsp;there.&nbsp;&nbsp;We&nbsp;hadn't&nbsp;really&nbsp;communicated&nbsp;much&nbsp;but&nbsp;Matt&nbsp;messaged&nbsp;me&nbsp;on&nbsp;a&nbsp;dating&nbsp;site&nbsp;wanting&nbsp;to&nbsp;meet&nbsp;up&nbsp;for&nbsp;happy&nbsp;hour&nbsp;after&nbsp;work&nbsp;on&nbsp;a&nbsp;Friday.&nbsp;&nbsp;I&nbsp;initially&nbsp;declined;&nbsp;I&nbsp;was&nbsp;over&nbsp;the&nbsp;dating&nbsp;scene&nbsp;at&nbsp;this&nbsp;point.&nbsp; However,&nbsp;I&nbsp;got&nbsp;off&nbsp;work&nbsp;early&nbsp;that&nbsp;day&nbsp;and&nbsp;figured&nbsp;I&nbsp;had&nbsp;nothing&nbsp;to&nbsp;lose.&nbsp;I&nbsp;ran&nbsp;home,&nbsp;showered&nbsp;and&nbsp;told&nbsp;him&nbsp;I&nbsp;would&nbsp;meet&nbsp;up&nbsp;as&nbsp;long&nbsp;as&nbsp;he&nbsp;didn't&nbsp;mind&nbsp;me&nbsp;showing&nbsp;up&nbsp;in&nbsp;jeans&nbsp;and&nbsp;a&nbsp;hoodie.&nbsp;My&nbsp;plan&nbsp;was&nbsp;simple:&nbsp;1&nbsp;or&nbsp;2&nbsp;drinks,&nbsp;and&nbsp;home&nbsp;by&nbsp;7.&nbsp;&nbsp; Then&nbsp;he&nbsp;walked&nbsp;in&nbsp;with&nbsp;his&nbsp;hair&nbsp;spiked,&nbsp;dress&nbsp;shirt&nbsp;and&nbsp;black&nbsp;pea&nbsp;coat&nbsp;and&nbsp;I&nbsp;thought&nbsp;perfect.&nbsp;&nbsp;He's&nbsp;way&nbsp;to&nbsp;put&nbsp;together;&nbsp;this&nbsp;won't&nbsp;go&nbsp;anywhere.&nbsp;&nbsp;I'd&nbsp;pay&nbsp;for&nbsp;my&nbsp;two&nbsp;drinks&nbsp;and&nbsp;call&nbsp;it&nbsp;a&nbsp;night.&nbsp; Boy,&nbsp;was&nbsp;I&nbsp;wrong,&nbsp;1&nbsp;or&nbsp;2&nbsp;drinks&nbsp;turned&nbsp;into&nbsp;hours&nbsp;of&nbsp;conversation&nbsp;which&nbsp;led&nbsp;to&nbsp;dinner&nbsp;down&nbsp;the&nbsp;road&nbsp;at&nbsp;the&nbsp;Mexican&nbsp;restaurant.&nbsp; The&nbsp;next&nbsp;day,&nbsp;after&nbsp;reffing&nbsp;basketball,&nbsp;I&nbsp;got&nbsp;a&nbsp;text&nbsp;from&nbsp;him&nbsp;inviting&nbsp;me&nbsp;to&nbsp;meet&nbsp;up&nbsp;with&nbsp;him&nbsp;and&nbsp;a&nbsp;couple&nbsp;of&nbsp;friends.&nbsp;&nbsp;So,&nbsp;I&nbsp;did,&nbsp;and&nbsp;we&nbsp;just&nbsp;never&nbsp;stopped&nbsp;seeing&nbsp;each&nbsp;other.&nbsp;&nbsp;Since&nbsp;we&nbsp;worked&nbsp;close&nbsp;to&nbsp;each&nbsp;other,&nbsp;lunch&nbsp;dates&nbsp;became&nbsp;a&nbsp;thing,&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;rest&nbsp;is&nbsp;history. Fast&nbsp;forward&nbsp;8&nbsp;years&nbsp;later....... November&nbsp;2024,&nbsp;we&nbsp;were&nbsp;invited&nbsp;on&nbsp;a&nbsp;last-minute&nbsp;trip&nbsp;to&nbsp;Naples&nbsp;with&nbsp;friends.&nbsp;Two&nbsp;weeks&nbsp;before&nbsp;the&nbsp;trip;&nbsp;I&nbsp;jokingly&nbsp;told&nbsp;Matt&nbsp;that&nbsp;I&nbsp;was&nbsp;going&nbsp;on&nbsp;strike;&nbsp;only&nbsp;fiancé's&nbsp;and&nbsp;wife's&nbsp;cook,&nbsp;not&nbsp;girlfriends.&nbsp;If&nbsp;you&nbsp;know&nbsp;us,&nbsp;you&nbsp;know&nbsp;I&nbsp;am&nbsp;always&nbsp;cooking&nbsp;us&nbsp;delicious&nbsp;meals.&nbsp; Little&nbsp;did&nbsp;I&nbsp;know&nbsp;that&nbsp;"strike"&nbsp;would&nbsp;actually&nbsp;work&nbsp;in&nbsp;my&nbsp;favor. With&nbsp;the&nbsp;help&nbsp;of&nbsp;our&nbsp;friends&nbsp;(and&nbsp;me&nbsp;without&nbsp;realizing&nbsp;it),&nbsp;Matt&nbsp;planned&nbsp;the&nbsp;perfect&nbsp;proposal. Every&nbsp;evening,&nbsp;we&nbsp;had&nbsp;been&nbsp;watching&nbsp;the&nbsp;sunset&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;beach,&nbsp;so&nbsp;I&nbsp;suggested&nbsp;that&nbsp;one&nbsp;night&nbsp;we&nbsp;actually&nbsp;dress&nbsp;up&nbsp;and&nbsp;take&nbsp;nice&nbsp;pictures.&nbsp;&nbsp;Surprisingly,&nbsp;he&nbsp;didn't&nbsp;complain. At&nbsp;sunset,&nbsp;we&nbsp;took&nbsp;photos&nbsp;while&nbsp;the&nbsp;beach&nbsp;slowly&nbsp;cleared.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Just&nbsp;as&nbsp;I&nbsp;thought&nbsp;we&nbsp;were&nbsp;finished,&nbsp;Matt&nbsp;said&nbsp;he&nbsp;wanted&nbsp;one&nbsp;last&nbsp;picture&nbsp;because&nbsp;the&nbsp;sky&nbsp;looked&nbsp;beautiful.&nbsp;&nbsp;That's&nbsp;when&nbsp;he&nbsp;got&nbsp;down&nbsp;on&nbsp;one&nbsp;knee. &nbsp;All&nbsp;I&nbsp;remember&nbsp;him&nbsp;saying&nbsp;was&nbsp;"Molly,&nbsp;I&nbsp;love&nbsp;you&nbsp;and&nbsp;I&nbsp;am&nbsp;truly&nbsp;sorry&nbsp;it&nbsp;took&nbsp;this&nbsp;long."&nbsp;After&nbsp;that,&nbsp;I&nbsp;think&nbsp;I&nbsp;blacked&nbsp;out,&nbsp;but&nbsp;I&nbsp;must&nbsp;have&nbsp;said&nbsp;yes&nbsp;because&nbsp;here&nbsp;we&nbsp;are. A&nbsp;proposal&nbsp;at&nbsp;sunset&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;beach&nbsp;couldn't&nbsp;have&nbsp;been&nbsp;more&nbsp;perfect.&nbsp; Matt&nbsp;and&nbsp;I&nbsp;share&nbsp;a&nbsp;love&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;outdoors,&nbsp;adventures&nbsp;and&nbsp;traveling&nbsp;all&nbsp;around&nbsp;to&nbsp;experience&nbsp;new&nbsp;places.&nbsp;So&nbsp;it&nbsp;is&nbsp;only&nbsp;fitting&nbsp;that&nbsp;Naples&nbsp;will&nbsp;always&nbsp;hold&nbsp;a&nbsp;special&nbsp;place&nbsp;in&nbsp;our&nbsp;hearts. We&nbsp;can't&nbsp;wait&nbsp;to&nbsp;marry&nbsp;each&nbsp;other&nbsp;and&nbsp;start&nbsp;our&nbsp;next&nbsp;chapter&nbsp;of&nbsp;adventures&nbsp;together. We're&nbsp;so&nbsp;excited&nbsp;to&nbsp;celebrate&nbsp;our&nbsp;special&nbsp;day&nbsp;with&nbsp;all&nbsp;of&nbsp;you!
