Lake Forest has a wonderfully quaint downtown area. Explore the restaurants and shops- including the Lake Forest Bookstore, where Molly's mom works. Try eating at Egg Harbor (breakfast), Lake Forest Food and Wine (lunch), or Market House (dinner).

The local theater is playing Don't Dress for Dinner on Friday night- a comedy about mistaken identities. Tickets are $37.50.

Spend the day at the closest amusement park, home to the American Eagle roller coaster, the world's tallest and fastest racing wooden coaster.

Downtown Chicago, about a 40 minute drive from Lake Forest, is a destination of it's own. Take an architectural tour by boat, wander through the art museum or Field Museum, shop the Magnificent Mile, or catch a show at Second City. Drive yourself downtown or take the Metra Train from Lake Forest to the city (use the Milwaukee North line).
