Our Wedding

Molly and Kevin met in November of 2017 shortly after Kevin had returned home to New Jersey after graduating from training in San Diego, CA. They had a very memorable first date at the Revolution in Morristown, NJ where they talked until they closed the place down. The month that followed was a magical time for both of them. These 2 Jersey kids became instant best friends despite knowing Kevin was not going to be able to stick around in NJ much longer. In January of 2018, Kevin was Louisiana bound to start his military medic program. When Molly drove him to the airport, it was a teary goodbye, but they were determined to try and make this work. They spent the next 9 months doing long-distance with Molly making frequent trips to New Orleans to visit Kevin. In July of 2018, Molly became ill and needed to do one of her standard hospital stays back home. Kevin snuck away from his program for weekend to surprise her at hospital. That was the day she knew she had definitely found "the one". After completing his medic training, Kevin was stationed in Virginia Beach in September 2018. They bought a house, but stayed long-distance as Molly's health continued to be too much of a concern for her to move. In September of 2019, Molly's lung collapsed at work, but thankfully, Kevin was visiting and able to rush her to the hospital. What followed was perhaps the most difficult 2 weeks of their lives as Molly's doctor pushed for her to get evaluated for a double-lung transplant. After her evaluation, Kevin proposed to Molly in hopes that whatever happens next, they could at least be together and she said "yes". When they officially got married on Oct 11th, 2019, it was not exactly a romantic affaire. They met at a municipal building on Molly's lunch break and signed the papers without a ceremony right before Kevin was due to leave on his first deployment. It was the most incredibly difficult good-bye, but they took a lot of comfort in knowing that should anything happen, the law was going to be on their side. Given the circumstances and wanting to stay focused on Molly's health, they kept this all a secret until there was a happier time for them to share the news. November 2019, this couple caught a major break when a new drug for treating Cystic Fibrosis became available to Molly. It's hard to find words to describe just how much of a game changer this medication has been, but Molly's lung function greatly improved and stabilized. The push to get her listed for a transplant subsided. While she still has some health issues, it gave her the freedom to finally be able to move to Virginia Beach and start her life with Kevin. They've been living happily together since the summer of 2020, but since Covid had hit, it would still be a long road until there was finally a good time for them to have the wedding that they wanted. Kevin and Molly are looking forward to a well-deserved celebration of their marriage with family and friends, and living happily (and healthfully) ever after. They have the deepest gratitude for everyone's love, patience and support on their journey. It has made all of the difference.

This hotel is where our room block is. We will also have a shuttle available to and from this hotel for the day of the wedding. This hotel is located in Morristown in a very walkable location to lots of restaurants and activities for guests. It is about a 10 minute drive to the event location.

Hyatt Regency Morristown

Large major airport that is about a 40-minute drive to the event location. This airport will have the most options for flights.

Newark Liberty International Airport

Closest Amtrak Station and about a 30 minute drive to the event location. Connects to Newark Liberty Airport, NYC and to local train stations much closer to the event location.

Newark Penn Station

Local train station in Morristown, NJ. About 10 mins from event location. Morristown has the most hotel options.

Travel

Downtown Morristown has lots of lively bars, good restaurants and fun activities. It is also a convenient 10-minute drive from our venue. All of the train stations on our travel page have access to NYC if you want to plan a day trip before or after the wedding. Check out the NJ Transit website for more details.

This is where the Bride &amp; Groom had their first date. Has a vast selection of craft beer and good food, (which is why Molly chose it).

Revolution, Gastropub

900 Acre National Historic Park. For most of the&nbsp;Revolutionary War, it was used by portions of&nbsp;Continental Army&nbsp;as a winter camp site, and it housed the main Continental Army during the "Hard Winter" of 1779–80, believed to be the harshest winter in recorded history for this area. The park is a 10 minute drive from our venue.

Jockey Hollow

Excellent local brewery, but does not have food on site.

Glenbrook Brewery

One of New Jersey's oldest arts and cultural institutions, the Morris Museum is an award-winning, institution offering programs in the arts, science, history, film, jazz, theatre, speaker series and other special performances.

Cozy bar with good food and drink selection plus a secret second bar called "Hops"you have to cut through the Frog to get to. Has a pool table, darts and shuffle board.

Speak-easy style bar with great cocktails. Don't be shocked if it gets a little crazy after 11 PM.

The Laundromat

Beautiful walking trails and neat exhibit center. Walks in the Great Swamp were a big part of both Molly and Kevin's childhood.

Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge

High quality 3-story Irish Pub. Has good food, but the kitchen closes around 10 PM, and it turns into quite the bar scene.
