Our Wedding

In many ways, our love story seems like we are destined to be together. However, we don’t see it that way. We see our love story as a testimony to the Lord and his goodness, and how He molds, grows, and changes people. We don’t believe in soul mates, but we do think our love and desire for the Lord drew us together, and that the Holy Spirit led us. We believe that we chose each other and will keep choosing each other for the rest of our lives. We did indeed grow up down the street from each other, ride the same bus, and have known each other since kindergarten, but we are not high school sweethearts. We never dated in high school. Sure, we ran in semi-similar friend groups, but hardly ever had actual conversations. We are pretty adamant about not being high school sweethearts because the Lord did so much work for us individually before we began to date or have romantic feelings for each other. Part of our love story did start, funny enough, at some of our best friends Luke and Kylie's wedding in the summer of 2019. We both flirted all through the rehearsal dinner, and somehow ended up slow dancing at the reception. Then, a few days after, I (Molly) texted Tanner to see if he wanted to grab food sometimes. Tanner freaked out and naturally ghosted me. I was not that hurt, honestly, cause I knew we had a spark for that one night, but I didn’t know if it was actually going to turn into anything deeper. We both laugh about it now, we now know what a mess we both were during that season of life and it would be so messy for us to get together then. That time apart for us to individually change and become the people we wanted to be separately was so vital. Fast forward to winter 2022, Tanner finally becomes a Christian!! This was after years of Luke, and many other friends in the house church witnessing and testify of the goodness and life-changing power of Jesus. Then, for about a year, Tanner and I were just friends but still frequently flirting. I was oblivious to many of the subtle signs that Tanner gave, like him giving me his sweatshirt to borrow one wind day, and half of the church freaking out about how cute it was. Because I came to find out his small group had been talking to him about his developing romantic feelings for me. Then, shortly after a year of joining the church, I finally realized and came to terms with the fact that “ hey, I might really like this boy”. So we went on the first date, and as awkward as it was, we kept slowly getting more comfortable and confident with our feelings for each other. We officially became boyfriend and girlfriend in June 2023. That first year, we both grew extensively in our faith and our understanding of what it meant to be not simply a good romantic partner but also what it meant to be a faithful friend and servant of the Lord. Turns out we really needed that foundation because roughly a year after we started dating, we got the news on June 9th, 2024, that my dad passed away peacefully in sleep. As my world caved in on me that morning, it was Tanner's hugs and his hand in mine that got me through. I already had an inkling in my mind and heart that Tanner was the man I wanted to marry and go through my days with, but his support during my darkest days really solidified it. Then six months later, in December of 2024, we got engaged, on a cold day at Fort Harrison State Park. It was certainly not flashy or grand, but it was us. This engagement time has been eye-opening yet reassuring that even as we dig through the depths of our hearts, both the ugly and lovely, Tanner and I can stand firm together. We look forward to hopefully having many more years and moments to look back on. However, we both have learned that life is but a vapor, so for now we are grateful to have the opportunity to have a wedding ceremony and celebration surrounded by so many people we deeply love to bear witness to the power of love.

Luke has been a huge part of both our lives since high school. He’s been a steadfast presence, consistently showing us what it means to be challenged and to push ourselves to grow. He has spoken into our lives, encouraged and loved us, and has been an incredible mentor, friend, and brother in the faith. We are truly honored to have him marry us!

Emily is my best friend. After living together for 4 years we have certainly seen each other through better or worse. We have seen through cooking brunches, talking late into the evening, and more recently watching all the old Barbie movies together. However it's not just living together that has forged our bond, it has been the dedication and desire to support and push each other to be strong women of God. Emily truly has brought a tremendous amount  of healing and hope into my life, and I am beyond honored to have her by my side.

Mallory is my oldest sister and someone I am so grateful to have in my life. Because of the age gap, our relationship has not been the most traditional, since she headed off to college by the time I was four. Nevertheless, Mallory has truly made me a priority in her life and has gone the extra mile to care for me. She has been someone I knew I could call on the phone and chat with for hours. I remember when I was young, I wanted to grow up and be a nurse just like her. While I ended up choosing to be a teacher (like everyone else in my family), I think what I truly admire is her thoughtfulness and resilience. Mallory has seen me through all my stages in life, and I am so excited to have her by my side as Tanner and I get married!

Morgan is my other older sister, and I appreciate how fun Morgan makes my life. She is constantly coming up with creative plans and ideas for kids, her classroom, and our family. Morgan's competitive spirit and drive to succeed are something I look to when things get difficult in my own life. As I got older, I loved getting to talk to her about deeper and more complex topics. Because of her, I am better at articulating my own thoughts and grateful for the way she models patience. It's truly special to have a wonderful sister like her standing next to me.

I was privileged enough to live with Syd for a quick 6 months, right before her graduation!  It was during that time that I realized just how much of an impact she had made on my life. Her inner fortitude inspires me. I saw how hard she worked in nursing school and how caring for others deeply matters to her. Tanner and I were in a small group with her, and I remember vividly several times where she shared her wisdom and patience with us. I take a lot of comfort knowing she will share in the joy of our day and bear witness to our love. 

Sydney 

Oh, sweet Abby! She is the friend who buys me flowers just because she was thinking of me.  Since being in the same church, Abby has always been someone I know I can rely on to yap with me about anything. I have admired bravery and vulnerability in both the big and small moments. She has an excitement for life that is contagious. I am grateful for how she has opened her heart and her home to me time and time again. It's been really great getting closer with her the last year and I'm so, so happy she will be a part of mine and Tanner's special day. 


Abby 

DeAni is one of the strongest women I know (literally, she is a bada$$ powerlifter). However, she shows strength outside in the gym in so many wonderful ways. She is such a sweet soul, and I loved getting to see her goofy side as she has grown in confidence. I deeply value her friendship and appreciate how steadfast it has been over the last couple of years. I always cherish when we make space to try out local coffee shops and catch up. I can't wait to bust out moves on the dance floor together. 

DeAni

One thing I'll never question about my friend Juilete is her love for me. I trust her to be honest even in the face of fear or anxiety.  Her willingness to ask deeper questions and learning the uncomfortable is something that I have learned greatly from. Despite being different in a lot of ways, it has been our love for the Lord that drew us close. She truly makes life more rich and beautiful, and I couldn't imagine celebrating our wedding without her. 

Juliette 

Kylie has been one of my longest and most consistent friends. She has shown up for me time and time again. She has shown me love in truth and in action. Because of Kylie, I am a better disciple of Christ and a better friend. It has been one of the greatest joys to be a committed friend in her life. I had the honor of standing in her wedding almost 6 years ago now, and I'm so overjoyed to have her with me as I begin my marriage.

Ben and Owen have been constant companions in my life, and we’ve been through a lot together. From our shared love of video games and music to our dedication to hard work and serving the Lord, we have so many similarities. I always know they have my back—and they know I have theirs.

Mitchell is my cousin, but I’ve always seen him as a brother. We grew up close and spent a lot of time together over the years. His sincerity is one of his most shining traits, and I’m always excited to catch up with him whenever we get the chance.

Jake is a friend I deeply value and a brother in the faith I’m grateful for. We’ve been in the same small group and are currently roommates, so we’ve shared a lot of life together. I admire his tenacity to grow in all areas of his life, no matter how difficult the task. I always enjoy our long yap sessions at the dinner table—somehow, I leave every one of them feeling more edified and a little wiser.

Jake

Jon (or “Jawm,” as some call him) is someone I look to for wisdom. A friend and brother in the faith, he has played a big role in helping me grow into who I am today. I admire his curiosity to try new things, his thoughtfulness toward others, and his constant desire to grow. Unfortunately, he’s also stronger and faster than me—and that needs to change, one way or another.

Lucas is a brother in the faith whom I deeply respect and enjoy crafting jokes with. He’s been there for me when I needed someone to talk to and has offered wisdom when I needed it most. Lucas has helped shape me into the person I am today. I admire his outlook on life, his desire to help others—and yes, he also makes a mean chicken Smoobie.

Collin and I share a love for conspiracy theories and performing odd lifts. His passion for investing in his community is something we can all learn from, as is his ability to make any moment a good time. A brother in the faith and a trusted friend, I value his perspective and rely on him to help me grow as a person.

Zane has been my friend since second grade. We grew up doing just about everything together—learning, making mistakes, getting into fights—but always working through it. We’ve been there for each other through so many stages of life, and I’m grateful to still call him a close friend to this day.
