What is a domestination wedding?

A destination wedding traditionally involves a ceremony and/or reception held outside the couple's hometown, typically out of the US. This means travel for most guests, effectively creating a complete getaway experience for them. A domestination wedding is a little closer to home but still creates the weekend away experience. Please join us for a fun filled 3-5 days. We will be staying at Michillinda Lodge Resort from Thursday, May 22nd to Tuesday, May 27th. The resort requires a 3 night minimum to book due to it being a holiday weekend.

What is the dress code?

All but the dancing will be outside, so dress in layers, it is Michigan after all. It is on the beach, so think khaki, chino, or linen bottoms, button up or polos, sundresses, etc. Please, no white or jeans.

When do I need to RSVP by?

Please RSVP no later than April 20th, 2025. The earlier, the better! You can RSVP on the RSVP tab above.

When should I arrive?

30-60 minutes before the ceremony. The ceremony will start at 4pm.

What do I do if I'm late to the ceremony?

If you're late to the ceremony, please don't walk down the aisle to find a seat. While we want all of our friends and family there, we would appreciate it if you would either stand off to the side or wait to join us at the cocktail hour shortly after the ceremony. We thank you for understanding! :)

Will everyone be allowed to bring a plus one?

Not everyone will be allowed to bring a plus one. While we wish we could accommodate everyone to have a plus one, our venue does have a cap of the number of guests we can have. It will be indicated on your envelope if you may bring a plus one. Most of the envelopes will say "and guest" or "and family."

Are my children invited also?

It will be indicated on the envelope of your invitation, "and Family." While we love and cherish all the little ones in our lives, we've chosen to include only the children of immediate family in our celebration. Thank you for understanding!
