Things to Do

Weather

Pittsburgh weather has a mind of its own, sometimes bringing three different seasons in one day. We highly encourage bringing clothes that can easily be layered, just in case summer and winter happen in the same day. It does get windy, so if you are not used to it, it would be good to wear a windbreaker. (We will have a place to hang coats at the wedding).

Restaurants

If you are a foodie like I (Molly) am, we 100% recommend visiting some of our favorite spots.

Downtown

(Location of Hotel and Venue)

The Speckled Egg. This is a fantastic breakfast spot that is about a 12-minute walk from the hotel. It gets packed pretty quickly, so we recommend getting a reservation beforehand.

Lawrenceville

(We live in Upper Lawrenceville)

Dive bar and grill. This is our favorite bar, and it's right around the corner from home, and we often go with friends and family. It has opened many more locations since we started going, but the quality has only gone up.

The Butterwood Bake Consortium. If you are already in the neighborhood, this is a great place to go for tea-flavored baked goods and late-night coffee.

Industry Public House has some of the best burgers around and would 100% recommend visiting if you are craving a burger. Note that they are in lower Lawrenceville, so parking is limited.

Strip District

(Between downtown and Lawrenceville)

Beware, parking is limited.

If you are looking for Steelers gear, this is the place to go! There are many stores in the area, if you need somewhere to navigate to, look up “Lotus Food Company.” It’s the Asian store where we get our groceries.

There’s our favorite street food vendor as well. We call it “Roberts” because that’s who runs the stall, and Molly has been going ever since she could walk. He and his family made the best thin noodle we’ve ever, and BBQ chicken skewers are to die for. It’s technically called “Moonlight Express” on Google Maps, and he’s open every day except for Wednesday until 6 pm. (There are exceptions for special occasions).

There are so many more places I could go on about, but it was getting too long. Just let me know if you want more suggestions, I will happily talk about them all day long. - Molly
