What is the dress code?
Black tie optional, so feel free to really dress up! For men, we suggest a suit or sport coat with slacks, and feel free to break out a cool tie or bowtie. For women, you may feel free to wear a floor-length gown or dress, a pantsuit or even a nice skirt and top.
Please no jeans or leggings.
What is parking and transportation like?
How you wish to get around on the day of is up to you, but here's what we'd advise.
There is a large parking lot behind the church if you'd like to drive there. The reception is 15-20 minutes away in Old Town Alexandria. There is ample street parking on streets around the venue, as well as paid lots. For parking near the reception, we recommend the Torpedo Factory, HB Parking on Union Street, and nearby street/garages.
Because it's a holiday, we anticipate street parking to be free. Check the signs carefully to be sure.
It may be easiest, however, to take a Lyft or Uber, especially if you plan on imbibing at the reception!
Are kids allowed to come?
Unfortunately due to space limitations at the venues, we cannot accommodate children except for infants under 1. Thank you for your understanding!
Can I bring a plus-one?
As we're on a tight budget and have limited space, we simply can't afford for all of our lovely guests to bring a guest of their own. Plus ones are therefore by invitation only, and we ask other guests to please not bring a plus one unless indicated on your invite.
How do I RSVP?
Please scan the QR code on the back of your invitation to RSVP digitally. If you have any problems, reach out to the bride or groom. You can also click the 'RSVP' tab on our wedding website.
What will the weather be like?
It's hard to know for sure (even meteorologists get it wrong!), but here's what to expect, generally: highs are in the mid to upper 50s, and evening lows can dip to the 40s.
Fortunately, both the ceremony and reception will be held indoors!
What type of food will be served at your wedding?
We'll be serving light appetizers at cocktail hour followed by a buffet-style dinner with two entrees and sides.
There will also be a full bar available in addition to other beverages.
Where should we bring/send our wedding gift?
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to our home by ordering through our registry (linked on this website!). A wedding card box will be at our reception.
Could you suggest places to eat, drink and see while I am in town for your wedding?
Luckily for you, if you're coming into town ahead of the wedding, there's a lot to do around the area thanks to the proximity of downtown D.C. Here are some suggestions, as well as our favorite local picks:
- The Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum maintains the world's largest and most significant collection of aviation and space artifacts
- Copperwood Tavern at the Village at Shirlington has excellent brunch
- The Old Town Farmers Market is open every Saturday, rain or shine, 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Go shopping in downtown Georgetown
- Grab an afternoon pint at Port City Brewing Co.
- Nearly 18 miles long, the Mount Vernon trail stretches from in Alexandria alongside the scenic Potomac River to the national monuments and memorials in Washington, D.C. - Visit Arlington National Cemetery (it's breathtaking on an autumn day!) - Walk around historic Del Ray for some yummy lunch bites - Explore Alexandria using the free street trolley
What do you recommend for nearby hotels or accommodations?
We recommend anything near/in Old Town Alexandria since that will prove closest to the reception venue.
What should I do between the ceremony and reception?
We hope you take this time to enjoy and get refreshed before the party!
There are so many bars around the reception venue, so feel free to stop in somewhere for a little refreshment. You can also feel free to go back to your hotel and freshen up, if you wish.
