Celebrate with us at Camp Paxson, located in an old growth larch forest on the shores of beautiful Seeley Lake. The wedding will take place on the 28th, but we invite you to join us on the 27th for two days &amp; nights of community, joy, and lots of fun.

Our Wedding

Mark and Mona met in Portland on election night 2018. They had both worked as staff on Governor Kate Brown's reelection campaign and were celebrating her victory at a large party for multiple successful campaigns from across the state. While standing in line at the bar surrounded by hundreds of politicos, a mutual friend tapped Mark on the shoulder. "Hey, did you know Mona is from Montana?" After learning they were both from the Bozeman area, they were inseparable for the rest of the night, drinking dark beer and bonding over their shared hometown, their love for politics, their mutual friends from back home, their shared vision to move back one day, and the wild fact that they were neighbors in a big city, living just around the corner from one another. They walked each other home that night, hugged, and said their goodbyes. Mark and Mona were friends for more than a year, running into each other walking down the street, at a block party, and biking through the neighborhood. Finally, the stars aligned and they started dating in December 2019. After a few wild years of a global pandemic, managing successful political campaigns side by side, working in Portland City Hall for two different City Commissioners, and constantly escaping the city to ski on Mount Hood and throughout the Cascade Range, they finally made the move back to Montana together, landing back in Bozeman. They feel so lucky to be back in their hometown, settling back into a rich community and the beautiful outdoors of the Treasure State. Mark and Mona can't wait to bring our different communities together for a couple great days of celebration in this place that we love so much!

Lodging

The wedding will take place at <a href="https:" target="_blank">Camp Paxson</a>, located on the shore of Seeley Lake. The camp has numerous bunkhouses, two bathhouses, and a lakeshore lodge with a full kitchen. The bunkhouses include bunk beds and mattresses (please bring a sleeping bag and pillow). The bathhouses include restrooms, sinks, mirrors, and showers. By receiving your invitation, you have a bed reserved in one of the bunkhouses for both nights if you desire. Alternatively, you are free to pitch a tent on the property if you prefer. There are also hotels and other lodging nearby—if interested, please make those arrangements separately. If you do choose to stay with us in a bunkhouse at Camp Paxson (which would be our preference), sleeping arrangements will be assigned prior to your arrival. If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out.

Travel

If you're flying in, we'd recommend flying to Missoula or Bozeman. Missoula has the closest airport to Camp Paxson (about 1 hour drive), Bozeman is about a 3.5 hour drive away, and both areas offer a wide array of outdoor activities and attractions depending on your travel arrangements. There will be other guests coming from Bozeman and Missoula so please let us know if you'd like to be connected with others to explore carpool options. Both towns also have multiple rental car options.

Travel and Lodging

Gus is rumored to be the largest larch tree in the world! There is a beautiful, short trail very close to Camp Paxson. Go check him out!

Camp Paxson is a two hour drive from Glacier National Park. There are incredible hikes and a scenic drive of Going to the Sun Road. Highly recommend!

Flathead Lake is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi and is just over an hour from the venue. Go play on the lake or hit up a lakeside brewery!

This scenic 3-mile out and back hike is just up the road from Paxson. It takes you along beautiful Holland Lake and up to the waterfall.
