Diego and Monica met by circumstances so unique that their first encounter could only have been destined by Providence. Towards the end of 2023, Monica decided to host a party at her new house and sent out invites, one of which went to a very recent acquaintance, Matteo Vlasic. Matteo had already made plans to attend a bourbon and cigar event that same night but committed to going to Monica's afterwards and decided to bring his brother, Diego.


It was a crisp December evening when the two brothers arrived at Monica's, somewhat tardy but nonetheless enthusiastic (fortified as they were by hearty libations and stout cigars). Intrigued by the unknown guest, Monica went up to Diego to introduce herself. As soon as the two locked eyes, it seemed as though the surrounding room completely vanished and conversation rapidly began to flow. From that moment onwards, Monica and Diego became inseparable and the best of friends. They started dating almost immediately.


The following summer, the couple went on vacation to Diego's hometown, Manhattan Island. On July 1st, Diego took Monica to his favorite place in all the city, the Ramble at Central Park. The two strolled along the park's walkways—hand-in-hand—admiring the thick lush greenery and the different sorts of passers-by. Diego paused where the Ramble meets the Lake and pointed Monica's attention to beautiful Bow Bridge just across the way. The Lake looked particularly stunning that day, with small boats speckling its sparkly waters and languorous turtles lining its rocky shores. This enchanting vision fresh before her eyes, Diego seized the opportunity to seal a very special moment in time and got down on one knee, asking Monica to be his wife. Monica immediately and excitedly replied, "Yes!", much to the satisfaction of canoeing onlookers.


Diego and Monica look forward, with great joy and anticipation, to sharing their wedding day with those nearest and dearest to their hearts. They are very excited and cannot wait to see family and friends on April 24th, 2025!
