I arrived in Mexico city with a shaved eyebrow. I was extremely embarrassed about it and told my mom to just draw it in with a sharpie. My mom disagreed and left me with half an eyebrow. My confidence was really low after this situation and I remember telling myself there is no way I am going to talk to anyone looking like this.

The first event we attended was the rehearsal dinner and everyone was mingling and having a good time. I was talking to my brothers and I saw this girl in a red dress. My attention was quickly drawn to this girl in a red dress and her name happened to be Monica. I took two shots of tequila with my brothers to acquire some liquid courage to talk to her with my shaved eyebrow. Without saying a word I jumped in a picture with her and Auntie Mado. She was too shy to even put her hand around me in the picture. When she walked away, I tried to talk to her again and she told me "I know Mado is trying to set us up so you don't have to talk to me." I was extremely discouraged all night with no hope for success.

Wedding day came around and then I saw this girl in a black dress. Once again I was blown away by this girl who so happened to be named Monica again. I remember my dad came up to me and told me you have to go talk to this girl or I will be very disappointed. Once again I resorted to two shots of tequila to help me build my liquid courage. I remember pulling her away from her friends and asked to dance with her. She finally agreed and she didn't leave my side the rest of the night. I assumed she couldn't understand me the whole night so it must have been my dance moves or my shaved eyebrow that drew her in. I went back to the hotel and woke my brothers up with excitement saying "I DID IT!"

I remembering waking up the next day with a sense of excitement and butterflies were roaming. First place I went to in the morning was Starbucks. And of course the first person I saw was this girl named Monica. I politely put my head down and walked away because I was too nervous to say anything to her. I waited a few days after the wedding to text her and since that day we have not stopped talking. I graduated dental school and moved to Florida to be close to her and the rest is history
