Where should I stay? When should I arrive?

Check out our travel section for more information on hotels. We encourage guests to arrive the morning of Friday, September 13th. If you wish to participate in our (optional) Friday the 13th events, you are welcome (and encouraged!) to do so. Check out the Schedule section for more information. Our ceremony will be taking place on Saturday, September 14th. Most guests will be departing on Sunday, September 15th.

Is there a gift registry?

Your presence is the greatest gift of all, and we sincerely don't expect anything more. However, if you feel inclined to make a contribution, we encourage you to consider supporting a cause close to our hearts. In lieu of gifts, we kindly suggest making a donation to Paws Animal Shelter, where we found Ellora. Your generosity will not only add joy to our celebration but also make a positive impact on the lives of animals in need. You can donate any amount on their website: https://www.pawschicago.org/how-to-help/donate

What's the dress code?

Friday the 13th : Gothic casual (or whatever casual clothes & comfortable shoes you have, but black would be preferred if you have it). Think shirt + shorts, black dress, etc. Wear comfortable shoes if you plan to joins us for the *walking* ghost tour. Saturday the 14th: As we gather to renew our vows in gothic splendor, we invite you to embrace a semi-formal attire with a dark twist. For those opting for suits, we suggest deep, dark hues like black, charcoal, deep navy, dark green, and burgundy. Pair with a dark dress shirt and, if you're feeling bold, accessorize with gothic elements such as intricate cufflinks or a statement ring. Alternatively, a sleek black dress shirt with tailored trousers, complemented by a jewel-toned tie or pocket square, adds a touch of mystery. Ties and undershirts aren't required (or encouraged, if Adam has his way). For those opting for a more feminine look: deep colors, rich fabrics (think silk and velvet), and lace are a great choice. Black is encouraged, but deep jewel tones like emerald green, sapphire blue, deep purple or dark red hues add an enchanting touch. Don't feel restricted by these suggestions; if anything, we want you to be comfortable and have fun with your look. Perhaps you'll use this as an opportunity to try on a new style that you haven't considered before. Keep in mind that September in New Orleans will likely be quite hot, and we will be walking in a second line parade for around 30 minutes (so break in those shoes beforehand, or bring another, more comfortable, pair to change into).

Is it an open bar? Do I need to bring cash to tip the bartenders?

Drinks are on us, any ensuing hangover is on you. We've already included gratuity in our negotiations with vendors; any supplemental gratuity is at your discretion.
