Monica grew up in Omaha, NE and spent 2013-2021 living in Kansas City attending Rockhurst University, where she met her best friends, and worked as a NICU nurse at Children’s Mercy! She fell in love with being an aunt, so decided to start travel nursing at Children’s Nebraska in 2021 to trial-run being back home, close to family.

Garrett grew up in Marshall, MI & attended Ferris State University! He also made life-long friends in college. He started his construction superintendent career at Turner Construction. Eventually he was offered a travel position for Turner in Omaha, NE and decided to take the plunge and move to a city he knew no one!

Thank God he did! Both of them joined the dating app Hinge upon moving to Omaha and it didn’t take long for them to swipe right on each other and begin chatting. In April 2022, Garrett took Monica out on their first date to his favorite dive bar, O’Leaver’s in Aksarben. They quickly fell in love and met eachothers’ friends and families. Garrett’s dog, Ranger, and Monica’s dog, Graham, became fast-friends and drove a lot of their first dates at Memorial Park walking the dogs and at Garrett’s having movie nights while cuddling the dogs on the couch. Garrett showed off his disc golf skills and Monica let him in on the best ice cream spots around town. They learned they travel well together after many road trips to Kansas City and Michigan to visit friends and family. They enjoy grilling together, playing pickleball right outside their backyard, riding bikes, landscaping, binging Netflix shows, playing sand volleyball, and walking the boys around Parkside neighborhood. They both value their faith, family and friends, and growing a family together someday! In March 2024, while in town for a good friend’s wedding, Garrett popped the question on the beach at Coral Cove Park in Tequesta, FL & she said "YES!" They can’t wait to have all of you at their intimate wedding this Fall!
