Our Wedding

As many of you know by now, we eloped on February 26th, 2016. Michael was soon to be deployed and we were not sure when we would be able to arrange a ceremony. So Mike hopped on a plane and flew up to South Bend where we went to the Justice of the Peace and eloped. We kept it quiet because we still wanted to have a ceremony and reception to celebrate with our family and friends. We have been planning this wedding for several months now, and hope all our family and friends can come to help us celebrate.# M&amp;M2017 #Maciejczykfest

In first grade, at North Point Elementary school in Indiana, Mike and I met for the first time in class. Fast Forward many years later (to High School) and we found ourselves in the same sculpture class. We were never really friends, but we knew each other and held an occasional conversation. Afew years later while I was attending Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, Mike came to visit a mutual friend for halloween. My roommates and I were throwing a party that night, but after afew hours it slowed down. I decided to head to the bars, so I quickly threw on my red panda onesie to keep out the frigid night air. There Mike spotted me from across the room and offered to buy me a drink and to catch up. We were both surprised to see each other so far from our small town, South Bend, Indiana. Once we started talking we realized how much we had in common. We exchanged numbers and kept in touch. He came down to see me and take me on a "proper" date the following weekend, before heading to Navy bootcamp. After that our communication became limited, but Mike contacted immediately once he was out of bootcamp the following spring. We met back up in South Bend as I had come home to drop off my mom's dog after dog sitting. Thats when things started to get more serious. Mike and I visited each other when we could, and I was even able to take him to Muncie Gras before I left Muncie. Whenever we were together we had a terrific time, even though we knew our time together was limited because he would have to return to the ship, we could tell that we had something special. In December 2015, New Years Eve, on the shores of Virginia Beach we got engaged. We planned to marry the following year. In early 2016 Mike found out he would soon be deployed. This put a hold on our plans but we did not let it stop us from getting married. Even though we wanted our family and friends to be there, we decided to follow our hearts and quietly elope with the intentions of holding a ceremony sometime down the road. Ever since, we have been planning a ceremony and reception to celebrate with our family and friends. We hope to see you all there to celebrate this special day with us!
