About Us

Q: Where/How did Jonathan propose?

Maui, Hawaii Island! We were up at 3am watching the sunrise on the summit of Mt Haleakala during our trip to Hawaii in June 2018. 'Unfortunately', I found the ring the morning of our trip, so it was all well planned out..

Q: What was your most memorable date?

Monique: When we were travelling around Europe with friends back in 2013, we stumbled across an abandoned cafe in Santorini and decided to have a spontaneous lunch date.

Jonathan: Going to a fine dining restaurant and having very awkward conversations waiting for each course, but also finding out that Monique's favourite part of dinner was the sorbet palette cleanser too!

Q: What were your first impressions like of each other?

Monique: Wow he's like a really quiet guy but damn can he dance....

Jonathan: Why does she talk so much? Also, she is pretty cute

Q: What made you fall in love with the other?

Monique: His dorkiness. Although he may look big and strong on the outside, Jon is the softest, most silliest guy I know and makes me laugh everyday. That and his freestyle rapping about food - Djon mustard (stage name).

Jonathan: She can cook! No, just kidding... She is kind, caring and considerate enough to put up with me and my terrible sense of humor, which definitely qualifies as #wifematerial

Q: What's the most memorable trip you've taken together?

Our 6 week Europe adventure back in 2013! It was our very first trip together and was definitely an eye opener after being stuck 24/7. Special mentions to Budapest, Florence, Vietnam and Hawaii ( of course!).

Q: Where are you thinking of going for your honeymoon?

Canada and United States of America to see their fall season! In particular ; Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, Washington D.C, New York, Los Angles and San Francisco, with a pit stop in Seoul, Korea. This trip was planned a few years ago but we decided to wait until our honeymoon (even back then we knew we would get married).

Yam Seng

What is Yam Seng?

"Yam Seng," or “cheers” in Chinese, is a Cantonese term that literally means “drink to victory," is usually practiced in wedding celebrations to congratulate the groom for marrying his beloved woman. Typically done towards the end of the reception, the couple, together with their families and the bridal party, will get up and cram around each table in turn to drink a toast with their guests. Everyone will raise their glasses high and shout "yam seng" so the atmosphere is pushed to a new high.

The longer and louder "Yam Seng" the more blessings we will have.
