Our Wedding

Mordecai and Gillian met at Matt and Sterling's wedding almost 10 years ago to this day. Gillian was an incredibly gorgeous bridesmaid and Mordecai had the good fortune of being in the right place at the right time. A short walk on the beach after the wedding and Mordecai had already fallen for Gillian (he may have just fallen on some slippery rocks).As luck would have it, Gillian was staying in Victoria that summer taking a French program at UVIC. Mordecai and Gillian spent a good part of the summer exploring all the interesting things in Victoria.They wrapped up the summer with a camping trip back to the west coast of Vancouver Island. Mordecai then saw Gillian back off to 100 Mile House where she was working as a teacher.Throughout the winter they travelled back and forth visiting when the opportunities arose.That summer they agreed to move in together in Victoria, Gillian getting a new job with the Victoria School board.They shared love and life for the next few years working towards what they have now. A beautiful daughter and a home to call their own.The last five years have been a whirl wind of work, play and raising Eleanor.It is in this joy of life they finally decided to tie the knot! Mordecai and Gillian are looking forward to sharing a wonderfully monumental day with their closest family and friends.

Mordecai met Adam on the first day of the 7th grade.  From weekends of Slurpees and pizza, to beer and pizza as roommates, Adam and Mordecai can still often be found making bad decisions together.  I'm honored to have Adam stand next to me for this
 monumental occasion.

Brad and Mordecai met through mutual friends many years ago.  Since then Brad and Mordecai find themselves skiing, fishing, camping and enjoying the finest chicken wings the Westshore has to offer.  Thank you Brad for being here on this very important day.

Mordecai and Tj have known each other since high school mechanics class.  If they weren't washing cars in the rain, driving around with the windows down in the winter or watching pickle races at McDonalds you'd probably find them getting a slurpee.  All these years later I'm glad Tj is here to celebrate this occasion with me.

Megan is Gil's younger sister who she has been fortunate enough to have spent many a moment with.  Though they went to different high schools, Gil and Megan ended up sharing many of the same friends and going to many of the same parties even into university.  Gil was very happy to be part of Megan and Stuart's wedding many a moon ago now and is always excited in spending time with Megan, Stuart and their family in amongst busy schedules.  Great Auntie Kay had a cross-stitched saying, framed her living room that read, 'A Sister is the nicest friend you can have' and I think about how true this is often.  It brings me great joy to have my sister standing beside me on this monumental day.

Gil first met Sterling on their very first day of the teaching program when both of them arrived to the orientation at the incorrect time.  In amongst the Friday (and Saturday) teacher-in-training meetings at the 'library' the 2 became good friends.  Gil lived with Sterling and Matt briefly before moving to Williams Lake (so briefly in fact that the housewarming and going away party were the same event).  In 2015, Gil had the honour of being a bridemaid in Sterling and Matt's wedding- which is where she met Mordecai, a good friend of Sterling's.  Sterling has always been an amazing friend with carefully calculated insight.  I always look forward to sharing time together camping, going to shows or events or anything else we can find time for and I am very happy to have her stand alongside me on this special day.

Kristin and Gil have been long time homies.  Gil and Kristin spent long amounts of time in the car together commuting from Qualicum to VIU.  This is where they both realized each others exemplar taste in music and picked up each others questionable driving habits.  Kristin and Gil have shared many a fun time from then to now including music fests, greyhound bus trips, trips to Vegas and road trips to nowhere in particular.  Gil was excited to be a part of Kristin and Chris's wedding as a bridesmaid and is always looking for an opportunity to visit them.  Kristin's good sense of humour and propensity towards keeping it real make her a very good friend and I am delighted to have her standing beside me on what will be a memorable day.
