What are the best local food and drink spots?
Some of our favorite lunch or dinner spots include Domaine South, Poppy and Parliament, MELT, La Esquina, Jack Browns Beer & Burger Joint, Condado Tacos, Little Rosie's, Indian Kitchen, and Taco Mama (this one is biased, as it was our first date spot! :) )
For Brunch, our favorite meal, we recommend Blue Plate Diner, Biscuit Belly, Old Black Bear (Sundays Only), The Standard Social Market, Metro Diner, First Watch, Another Broken Egg, or Char.
For coffee, Gold Sprint or Honest Coffee Roasters are a must!
For a cocktail or beer, Baker and Able, Stella's Elixir Lounge, Back Forty Brewing, Yellowhammer Brewing, The Martin, The Dirty Olive, Del Chuco (underground bar portion of the restaurant), The Casual Pint, and Catacomb 435 (a speakeasy downtown - reservations required, and we recommend booking a month in advance for a weekend spot)
Last, but not least, for a sweet treat, our go-to is Handel's Ice Cream! Char, Big Spoon Creamery, Cookie Fix, Pizzelle's Confections, or Edgar's Bakery.
What should we do while we're in town?
The "Most Huntsville" thing you can do while in Huntsville is visit the U.S. Space and Rocket Center to see how Huntsville became the Rocket City!
Fun places to explore include Big Spring Park, Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment, Stovehouse, The Huntsville Botanical Garden, Bridge Street Town Centre, The Huntsville Museum of Art, Mid City, Rocket City Dog Bar, Monte Sano State Park and Blevins Gap for hiking.
Most weekends, there's a fun comedian at Levity Live, a Trash Pandas game at Toyota Field, some type of market or festival at Mid City, a concert or market at the Orion Amphitheater, or an event downtown!
What's the best way to get around town if we flew in?
We recommend renting a car, or using a ride-share app such as Lyft or Uber. Huntsville does have a public transportation system, but honestly, we cannot say that we have ever heard of anyone we know using "The Orbit"
