Morgan and Lucas met while both attending the University of Dubuque, and started dating in college. Lucas asked Morgan to borrow a book for a business class, because of course Lucas didn't buy one! After they shared the class book, they started spending a lot of time together and have been inseparable ever since. After graduation, Morgan and Lucas moved to Cedar Rapids. They spent a lot of time supporting the Iowa Hawkeyes, playing recreational sports, and listening to the various bands at the winery.

Morgan and her family spend two weeks in August camping at the Iowa State Fair every year. Lucas has enjoyed these trips for a few summers, but the summer of 2022 was a bit different. His family decided to join the festivities for a day. Morgan and Lucas showed them the best spots of the fair, but Lucas had a surprise planned back up at the campsite. He got down on one knee and proposed in front of our families! Of course, Morgan said YES!
