Morgan and Austin met in college. During Morgan's sophomore year and Austin's freshman year of college at Ole Miss, we both were involved in a campus ministry called Chi Alpha.
We were introduced to each other at a Chi Alpha winter conference at the end of 2017, and we began talking from there. We both were in a leadership training class through Chi Alpha (Austin's at 3:00 pm and Morgan's at 4:00 pm) that spring semester, and we made it a point to talk to each other in between our class times every day. After talking for a little over a month, we decided to go out on a couple of dates and then become an official couple.
From there, we were together throughout our time in college. We both were student leaders in Chi Alpha and were highly involved in the ministry, leading small group Bible studies and attending many retreats together. Both being journalism majors, we took several classes together and spent many evenings and days together (because our apartments coincidentally were right beside each other).
In 2020 right after Morgan graduated, we drove down to Pearl, MS and picked up a sweet, little ten-week-old puppy. We named him Peter Barker, and he has been a big part of our lives since. Pete is the sweetest dog and has brought much life and joy to our lives.
After working together for a year at Ole Miss with Chi Alpha, we have faced a lot of highs and lows, challenges and triumphs. Austin currently works full-time on staff as a campus minister with Chi Alpha. Morgan currently is in a master program for education and working full-time as a high school Spanish teacher.
We have grown a lot together, and we are excited to be able to spend the rest of our lives together. God is good, and through the years, our love for each other has only grown stronger. We will continue to live in Oxford, MS with our precious dog Pete as Morgan works on her masters degree and Austin continues to work with Chi Alpha at Ole Miss.
