Our Wedding

Josh and I were on vacation with my family&nbsp;at Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. My mom had requested that we all bring a nice&nbsp;outfit so we could take family pictures on the beach. We got through pictures of the whole family, then my sister and brother-in-law wanted a few together, as did Josh and I. After several pictures, I figured we were done and was about to walk away. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Josh kneel down. He had the most precious speech (I wish I&nbsp;could remember it all) and as we were wrapping up, several others on the beach started clapping and whistling to cheer us on!&nbsp;&nbsp;Ocean Isle Beach has always been a vacation spot for my family, but now it holds an even more special place in my heart.&nbsp;

The Proposal

I first met Josh in January of my sophomore year of college. He had made his way to my campus apartment with my roommate and&nbsp;her sister. I&nbsp;was sitting on the couch in the living room watching the KU basketball game, wearing my pajamas, and shoving teddy grahams in my mouth. I&nbsp;remember him walking in and wearing his blue long-sleeved Kansas shirt. I thought to myself, "he's definitely a good one if he keeps up with KU athletics". Later that night, I found him on instagram and very quickly hit the "follow" button. Over the next several days, we continued to talk on social media before he asked me to meet him at Char Bar to watch a KU&nbsp;basketball game.&nbsp; After a few dates, he officially asked me to be his girlfriend on Valentines Day of 2017. And the rest is history!&nbsp;I&nbsp;am beyond lucky to have met the most passionate, handsome, and caring man. He has supported&nbsp;me during my highest moments and stuck with me during my lowest. I cannot wait to see what the rest of our lives have in store!

About the Groom, as told by the Bride

I first met Morgan in January of 2017. I ended up in her apartment after being on a date with one of her roommates. When I&nbsp;walked into the apartment, I saw her sitting on the couch in watermelon boxers, eating teddy grahams, and watching the KU basketball game. I knew she was awesome when I when I saw her getting into the game. Later that night, I received a follow request&nbsp;on social media. After a few days of talking on social media, I asked her on a date to watch the KU game at the Char Bar. When valentines day came around, I&nbsp;asked her to be my girlfriend.&nbsp;During the first few years of dating, I was lucky enough to watch Morgan play softball. I was able to see Morgan's passion and dedication through her academic and softball career. I also&nbsp;saw it everyday in our relationship as it grew stronger and stronger! Soon I will be marrying the woman I fell in love with in that campus apartment!

Morgan and Ashlin met while playing softball at UMKC. Ashlin is from Wisconsin and brings a good ole northern accent to the group!

Parker is Josh's cousin, but is thought of more as a younger brother.&nbsp;

Luke is Josh's friend whom he met while at Pittsburg State University.&nbsp;

FAQs

Are kids invited?

We love your kids&mdash;we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! We happily welcome anyone over the age of 13 years old. We&nbsp;appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time for your little ones.

Can I bring a date?

If your invitation says “and Guest” or if you look up your name to RSVP and there is a guest option,&nbsp;then yes. If not, we would prefer if it was just you.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

It is our hope that the weather cooperates so we may have our ceremony outdoors. The reception will be held indoors.&nbsp;

Where should guests park?

There is limited parking at the venue and absolutely no parking on the street. If possible, please carpool. The venue asks that we not leave any cars overnight. However,&nbsp;if a car is left, it must be picked up by 10:00&nbsp;the following morning,&nbsp;so please plan accordingly.&nbsp;
