Can I bring a guest?
Although we would love to offer a plus one to all guests, we have a strict guest list to stay on budget and meet our venue restrictions. For this reason, your invitation is addressed to those who are invited. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you.
Can I bring my kids?
We want you to be able to kick-back, relax, and celebrate with us which is why we have decided to host an adults-only event. We appreciate you making arrangements to leave the kids at home so you can enjoy a night out with us.
What should I wear?
The dress code is semi-formal so select something fancier than you would wear to the office, but a bit less formal than black tie garb. We invite you to join us in wearing our wedding colors, which include earth tones and neutrals like green, brown, tan, and rust. Our venue is on top of a mountain which means it will get chilly when the sun goes down. We will have blankets and a fire to keep you cozy, but if you are prone to getting cold we recommend layering.
I want to dress on brand, what's the vibe?
Vintage, boho, moody. Picture candlelight, books, plants, and vintage tableware.
What will the weather be like?
The weather on top of Bent Mountain, Virginia, during the first week of September typically features pleasant, warm days with highs around 81°F and cool nights with lows around 58°F.
When and where do I RSVP?
Please RSVP on our website by August 5th, 2025. You are welcome to RSVP before this date [the earlier the better]!
What if I can’t make it?
You will be missed, but we completely understand. Please RSVP “no” as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly.
I can’t attend all events – is that okay?
Of course! Come when you can – just don’t forget to RSVP “no” to events you won’t be attending.
Will I get to meet the dogs?
All three pups will be a part of our wedding ceremony. Our venue does have a dog kennel on site for the dogs to stay at, but they will likely make an appearance or two throughout the night. If you have any concerns related to the dogs please contact either Maid of Honor to discuss.
Where should I stay?
We have reserved hotel room blocks for guests at the Holiday Inn Roanoke Tanglewood. Please see our Travel Page for more information on booking your stay.
Is there parking available at the venue?
Albeit limited, there is parking available on-site. Cars can be left overnight but must be picked up before 8am the following morning. There will be a shuttle transporting guests to and from the Holiday Inn Roanoke Tanglewood.
Can I take photos?
We have hired a professional photographer to capture our special day and ask that you do not use your cell phones during the ceremony. However, you are more than welcome to take photos and videos of the rest of the night! Please use the hashtag #gottabeagillespie if you post online. There will also be QR codes available which will allow you to automatically upload your photos to a shared wedding drive.
What time should I arrive?
Please plan on arriving at 4:30 pm to give yourself time to get a drink and find a seat before the ceremony begins at 5:00.
Will we be inside or outside?
Our ceremony and reception will take place outside where we can enjoy our gorgeous mountaintop venue. The venue does have indoor spaces that will be accessible throughout the night including a sitting room where our photo slideshow will be on display. In the case of uncooperative weather, all festivities will be moved indoors.
Will there be an open-bar?
We will have softs drinks along with beer, wine, and cider. There will also be four specialty cocktails and one specialty mocktail to chose from to ensure everyone has something to sip on! As the night continues, you can find a little pick me up at the on-site coffee bar which is sure to keep you going all night. It wouldn't be an M&K wedding without some late night caffeine. IYKYK
What time does the reception end? What if we are still down to party?
The reception will end at 11:00 pm. Anyone who wishes to continue the celebration can join us at the bridal party house! We will have two shuttles available at the end of the night—one for the hotel and one for Brookwood House where the bridal party is staying.
Please note there will not be transportation provided to get people back to the hotel from Brookwood. If you choose to attend the after party, the hotel is ~7 minutes away and accessible by both Lyft and Uber.
I have a food allergy or preference, can you accommodate this?
Yes! When you RSVP you will be asked about any dietary preferences or restrictions. Please include anything you want us to know about and we will do everything we can to accommodate.
