Our story traces back to Parks and Rec soccer, where Clayton and Morgan first crossed paths. Despite Clayton playfully refusing to high-five Morgan off the field, fate kept bringing them together. In high school, they shared the same friend group at Ballard High School and were both involved in FFA. The long bus rides to events and hanging out together before meetings deepened their connection. As time passed, they began spending more time together, with Clayton persistently asking Morgan to be his girlfriend four times before she finally said yes! His determination was charming, and their bond grew stronger.
Their journey officially began on December 15th, 2019, with a memorable date at Applebee's after one of Morgan's soccer games. Despite the distance when Clayton moved to South Hamilton to finish high school and Morgan stayed at Ballard until 2022, their love endured. They navigated the challenges of long-distance during the pandemic, which surprisingly brought them even closer.
Clayton's move to Ellsworth for basketball and Morgan's subsequent start at Iowa State University marked another chapter in their story. In August of that year, Clayton gave Morgan his grandmother's promise ring—a symbol of enduring love passed down through generations. Inspired by the strength of Cindy and David's love, Clayton and Morgan found solace in their commitment to each other, despite the miles between them.
By the end of 2023, Clayton was ready to transfer to Iowa State to complete his degree, a decision influenced by their desire to be closer. Later that summer, an unexpected offer for Clayton to play basketball at Upper Iowa University posed a dilemma. Morgan, who had eagerly waited for Clayton to join her at Iowa State, faced a tough decision. Despite countless pros and cons lists and numerous drives to Fayette, Iowa, they ultimately packed their bags, found an apartment, and transferred colleges together.
Their journey, filled with challenges and decisions, was undoubtedly a testament to their love—a love that grew stronger with each obstacle they faced and overcame together.
Now they have moved to a lovely home in Jewell with their little puppy, Koda!
