For 21 years, Morgan and Stevie were living their separate lives…just forty-five minutes away from each other. A mere river dividing the two. It took several hours of travel, mutual friends, and a cold night in Syracuse, NY to bring the two together. But on that night, a spark was quickly ignited.
Funny enough, over the next few years of dating, that forty-five-minute drive between the two would be the closest they would be for some time. Distance becomes quite the theme between them. After Morgan graduated from college in the spring of 2019, she took a teaching job in the beautiful country of Spain a few months later. Meanwhile, Stevie returned to college for his fifth and final year of school and baseball in Rochester, NY.
Then, Covid. Everyone was affected in their own way during such a strange and crazy time. It unfortunately cut Morgans Spain stay short. Fortunately, what it did do, was give the couple the most time together they had ever had before. Growing as individuals and as a pair, really getting to know one another and their families. A love so strong was starting to form.
Some “struggling college kid” type jobs, at-home workouts, and lots of home-cooked meals were to ensue over the following months cooped up at home. Stevie also used this time to make up for a lost final season of baseball and train while at home, trying to chase a dream of playing at the next level. Later in the summer of 2020, he would get the call that would change both their lives. However, that meant back to long distance.
From 2021, Stevie’s first professional season, to the present, it’s been filled with travel. Ranging all over the country. The two have done their best to be with each other as much as possible. After having done a few teaching jobs, Morgan has taken on a new path in Sales, making it possible to travel with Stevie throughout the season. Through the ups and downs of careers, new locations, and new jobs, some things have stayed consistent. Like the love they share for one another, their commitment to each other, and their unwavering support in whatever happens next along this crazy journey. Harnessing that spark from night one that has grown ever since.
On December 17th, 2023, Stevie popped the question in a foggy, but beautiful setting and was met with a resounding “yes!” Just as they were surrounded by friends and family then, they are now ready to celebrate their special night of “I do’s” with everyone they truly love and that has made this all possible.
