Especially agree with their description of Barcelona ….“Rome meets Paris”. But should add, SO much more hospitable than both! And so clean. Yes, Mount Tibadabo as they highlight, is one of the must sees and often off the radar of the more regularly visited or high profile sites. You can easily take an Uber or possible option of a shuttle but isn’t somewhere you’ll want to take off on foot. There’s a small amusement park at the summit but unsure of seasonal hours however. Also a beautiful church with spectacular, sweeping views of the city. If you enjoy elevations, you’ll also want to consider a cable car ride to Montjuic. Former military fortress which dates back to 1640. This will actually be our location for the rehearsal dinner. As for restaurants the link mentions, completely agree with El Nacional located in Passeig de Gracia (nearby the host hotel, The Majestic). The vibe is various, open area, restaurants and bars within. All offering different specialities from around the Iberian peninsula. El Nacional became Morgan’s favorite while she lived there for a semester. There’s a casino located near the beach boardwalk adjacent to the often photographed Ritz Carlton, Hotel Arts. It’s a beautiful property. The beachfront is bustling during the warmer season but should be plenty of eateries and bars still open. It’s a worthy, short, subway ride. After all, you’re on the Mediterranean! It’s breezy and likely some cooler this time of year so dress accordingly.

Wherever and however you choose to spend your time, make certain you carve out some well spent leisure for stopping at the countless cafes and enjoy some tapas and sangria. Do keep in mind many restaurants honor the mid day siesta and kitchens close from 2:00-5:00 p.m. So just don’t wait too long to eat lunch. We’ve been caught off guard by this more than once. Good news is, most bars keep flowing.

La Roca Village is an upscale/luxury outlet mall located about 20 miles outside of the city. It’s very large. Bars, cafes and restaurants included. There is a dedicated shuttle with frequent timing options from within the city. It’s rather popular.
