Our Wedding

Davis and I both grew up in Oklahoma City, although Davis proudly claims Dallas, TX and Lake City, CO as second homes. We met freshman year of high school, when I transferred to Heritage Hall. We were quickly introduced to each other and became better and better friends as high school went on. By the end of senior year, we were closer than ever after the parents paired us together on the senior spring break trip to Mexico, since we were a few of the only ones flying solo. We spent the week inseparable, making many margarita hazed memories together.&nbsp; After graduation, Davis moved south to attend Texas A&amp;M, while I stayed close to home at OU. We spent the next few years on our own paths, only seeing each other at the occasional hometown party. The summer after my graduation, I saw a Snapchat story of Davis in OKC, to which I responded “If Davis leaves the state of Oklahoma without saying hi to me, I’m going to be sad.” I was quickly invited over to the McLain house and we immediately hit it off. Davis was still living in College Station at the time, but suddenly started finding more excuses to come home that semester. Over the next four months, in between those visits, we stayed in constant communication. While home for Thanksgiving, Davis invited me on his family ski trip to Crested Butte prior to confirming that we were officially dating… bold. I suppose I passed the test, because on the last day of that trip, he asked if he could introduce me to other people as his girlfriend. The rest is history! Over the past 6 years, our life together has been full of love and adventure! We have now made two long distance moves together and have lived in three different states. Our dogs, Tuff and Bodhi, have been with us through it all! We are settled into our cute little house in Salt Lake City and love being so close to these mountains we now call home. Five years after Davis asked me to be his girlfriend in Crested Butte, he asked me to spend forever by his side back in the same town that means so much to us both. When planning our wedding, Crested Butte was the obvious choice. We cannot wait to celebrate with you all in the place that holds so many special memories for us!

What is the dress code?Our wedding ceremony and reception are both black-tie optional. Our vision is elevated mountain chic embracing both fun and formal. the ceremony is outside, set back into the aspens off of a short trail. please keep this in mind when choosing footwear. the weather can fluctuate this time of year, so come prepared for anything.

is there transportation to and from the wedding ceremony?yes! transportation will be provided to the ceremony and back to the reception venue. busses will be picking up and dropping off at public house on elk.

is there transportation around the town of cb?while there is no uber, getting around cb can be easy if you plan well. all of the wedding events will be in the town of cb, which is very walkable for those staying in town. if you decide to stay on the mountain, make sure to plan your transportation accordingly. there are busses managed by the city with bus stops around town and on the mountain. there are also many private transportation options.

There are two airports near Crested Butte. Gunnison is the closer airport, but Montrose can often be cheaper and have more flights. Both airports have busses and availability to rent a car.

Where to Stay

We are encouraging our guests to stay in town or close to the bus stop at Mountaineer Square. All of our wedding adventures are in the town of Crested Butte rather than on the mountain.
