It was only a matter of time before Cameron and I fell in love. We both attended Capital University for an athletic training degree but just missed each other by a year. He then started working at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in 2021 in the same school district where I had been working. We got matched up so I could be his mentor while he started his athletic training career. I was instantly drawn to his smile (but who isn’t??). After I invited him to join my sand volleyball team as an excuse to spend more time with him, I ran into the barrier of Cameron being such a sweet soul that he didn’t know I was flirting with him. One day I gained the courage to be blunt and come out and tell him I like him. (Cameron claims he thought I was just being nice before that) From that moment on we formed a love that I could have never imagined. It then took Cameron 6 months to ask me to be his girlfriend by showing up to my work with chocolate cupcakes where he wrote, ”will you be my gf” in frosting.

It didn’t take us long to know that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. In May of 2024 we took a trip to Niagara Falls with his family and on the very last day at 9pm we were in the hotel getting ready for bed and he mentioned going to go look at the lights at the falls. He looked nervous but I shrugged it off. We admired the falls for a while and as I turned around to head back he got down on one knee and proposed. Through the tears I, of course, said YES!!
