Paul and I met in 2019 while I was still living out in North Carolina. My lifelong friend and cousin, Katy, came to visit one weekend in March. We were sitting at the pool chatting when Katy had a lightbulb moment. She realized that she had never told me about her boyfriend (now husband) Matt's college roommate/baseball teammate. Katy immediately called Matt to tell him the genius plan to set us up. Matt pitched the idea to Paul with one caveat...the girl he wanted him to meet lived in North Carolina. Paul was skeptical, but with some (a lot) of encouragement, he reached out to me on my birthday. We hit it off immediately and met a few weeks after when Matt flew me home to be a part of his proposal to Katy. Paul and I embarked on an (extra) long distance relationship and made many trips back and forth from Wisconsin to North Carolina. After about a year, I made the big move back to Wisconsin and it quickly became clear that we didn't want to tackle this crazy life with anyone else. Paul proposed in February and we decided on a short engagement because we just can't wait to start our life together. We’re looking for a house in Menomonee Falls to move into after the wedding and couldn’t be more excited!
