If you’re in town for the weekend, we recommend keeping it simple and doing what we actually do. We love grabbing ice cream at Mountain Brook Creamery, splitting a deep-dish at Tortuga’s (Chicago style, always worth it), and keeping things low-key.

If you’ve got kids, McWane Science Center is a must — Ryder could spend all day there. We’re also big fans of easy, no-frills spots to eat, good comfort food, and anything that doesn’t require a reservation or a dress code.
