Our Wedding

Morgan and Jovan met 10 years ago, standing at the bus stop on the corner of Upland and 2nd Ave. The right people, but the wrong time, the two remained friends through high school, relying on one another for support and a kind of love that both of them needed at the time. On the night before Morgan left for college, she and Jovan made a pact sitting by the pool in her backyard. If neither of them were married by time they were 30, they would marry each other. This arrangement has been made across best friends for years, but neither realized they had created the most important foundation that a pair would need. Friendship and dedication. After parting ways for several years, Jovan reached out to Morgan after returning from the Basic Training. Morgan was on summer break, and they began to reshape their friendship-- only this time things were different. They spent almost everyday that summer together, and spent every weekend of the school year with one another. The love that they had for one another withstood time, and grew just as they had, rooted in the foundation of friendship and dedication.

After 6 years, Morgan finally figured out how to get Jovan to propose: by force! 

Morgan is super fun, veeery popular, the best dog mom, really cool, but most importantly, she absolutely loves Jovan. She's thrilled to share this love with her friends and family all together. 

Morgan Lyons

Jovan programs for children who have autism, and loves what he does. He's a simple guy who enjoys playing video games, screwing around with his dogs, and doing puzzles with Morgan. Jovan cannot wait to marry Morgan, and will tell everyone he meets that he's waited for this moment from the day he met her. It's a shame he didn't meet Caleb first though.

Morgan and Mackenzie have been friends since high school when they played soccer together, Mackenzie playing goalie and Morgan playing bench. Mackenzie had a very successful D1 rowing career at Drexel, where she lived down the street from Morgan who had just moved to the city. Morgan is thrilled to have her beautiful, amazonian, long-legged, successful, D1 athlete friend standing RIGHT next to her on her wedding day.

Morgan has known Gaelyn for what feels like her whole life. In fact, they lived as roommates for over a decade, so needless to say, they have seen both the worst and the best of each other. Gaelyn, the more organized of the two, would separate their room in half to distinguish the clear line between chaos and hygge. She would also generously allow Morgan to sleep in her bed with her ONE night a week when she got scared ("so choose wisely"). Morgan was able to get her own blows in of course, namely spitting gum into Gaelyn's hair when Gaelyn was going to snitch on her. 

Gaelyn Lyons

Kaitlyn and Morgan lived in the same apartment complex together for a year. During that time, Kaitlyn expertly used her financial literacy skills to convince Morgan to go to TJMAXX, Target, OrangeTheory, HomeGoods, HomeSense, Sephora, McDonalds, Chik-fil-a, Marshalls, and Lowes regularly during their time together. They bonded over girl math, how much they hated waking up at 4:45am to go to the gym, and family dinners together. Morgan hates that Kaitlyn lives all the way in Florida, but she has a 10 step plan to get her back to PA (don't you worry).

Jess started out as Morgan's coworker, but they very quickly became besties (Morgan asked if it would be weird if they moved into the same apartment community as Jess and she had no choice but to say no). During their time at Summit Park, Morgan and Jess went to the pool almost everyday in the summer, went to TJMAXX and target together, and Jess and her husband Ben would make pierogis that Morgan and Jovan would gladly invite themselves over for. Jess recently moved back to her home town, but Morgan ALSO has a 10 step plan to get her back to the Philly area (I hope you're sensing a pattern). 

Jessica Bassett

Morgan and Brandon go all the way back to her freshman year of high school, where they did public speaking/acting competitions together. Neither one of them did particularly great, but it's not about winning, it's about having fun (right?)!!!!! Brandon and Morgan have remained close over the years and Morgan is looking forward to the day Brandon gets famous so she can finally use him to get into cool places and meet famous people.

Morgan has known Peyton since they didn't talk to each other at all in Sunday school. They re-met in high school after confirming that, yes, they both went to Sunday school together. Morgan and Peyton played soccer together, performed together in public speaking, and single handedly scarred the population of Absegami by baking foul cookies, recording students' reactions, and then airing it on GamiTv™. Their friendship has remained in tact over the years, and Peyton is sure to bring the life to any party. 

Peyton

Ant has known Morgan's family since they rode the bus together at Atlantic Christian school. They did community theater productions together and Ant was able to be the big brother that the Lyons kids didn't have. Ant's REAL bestie in the family is Carole, the mother of the b-word (bride), who he loves to spend time terrorizing, much to Carole's chagrin. Ant is an honorary member of the Lyons family, so much so that he will text the kids when they're visiting their parents to ask what "mom and dad are cooking for dinner."

Anthony Yard

Ben and his wife Jess lived at Summit Park at the time that Morgan and Jovan lived there. Ben and Jovan hit it off immediately, very likely because their sun signs are both in Cancer (yikes). The two would spend late nights talking about cigars, smoking cigars, and thinking about cigars. They REALLY like cigars. Ben has been a constant for Jovan over the past few years, being supportive and compassionate for his equally sensitive buddy. 

Ben Newman

Ryan is Kaitlyn's husband, and he used to work with both Jovan and Morgan. Ryan and Jovan became fast friends, both having a VERY sarcastic sense of humor. They bond over football, not because Jovan likes football at all, but because Ryan really does and Jovan wants to fit in (GO LIONS!) Ryan's family is also from Michigan and he grew up in the same area as Ron's, father of the b-word (bride), family. Ryan is the guy you'd want to have around for deep conversations and a different perspective.

Spencer and Morgan have a classic enemies to besties story. Their friendship solidified when Spencer grew over 6 feet tall and Morgan could no longer beat him in a fight (she's playing her cards right). When Gaelyn went off to college, Morgan and Spencer bonded over missing their sister, and grew even closer. The two were inseparable and still are (except for that one time at Woody's).
