Our Story

According to her…
As a girl who was and is a big sucker for love stories and fairytales, I always wondered what mine would look like and more importantly when it was going begin. Waiting on God’s timing was always easier said than done but I knew He had my best interests at heart and had a plan for my life. So I set out on a growing journey of trusting in God to bring me a man of God who would love me wholeheartedly and care for me. I was really struggling to see what avenue that he would enter into my life and as I was lamenting this to a friend, she suggested that I sign up for some dating apps. Although I would have never chosen that option unprompted, I thought why not give it a try. I’m so glad I did! A profile caught my eye; in a sea of basic profiles talking about interests in watching football, hiking, or prompts saying simply “if you want to know more just ask” 🙄 one stood out as a guy who talked about his love of theology and apologetics. Finally someone who cares about their faith!! After several messages and a video chat later we met for our first date where Ryan’s extensive list of get to know you questions really impressed me. Several dates, several hours of talking on the phone and two years later we grown to know one another really well and are falling more for each other all the time. (Sappy and cliche I know but I warned you I am fairytale type girl) God has really blessed me with such an amazing man and one who was well worth the wait. I can’t wait to see all God has in store for us!

(Ryan’s Version)

While, looking on hinge one night. I saw Morgan’s profile pop up. After browsing through her profile, I thought she had answered all her questions very well! And then I took a closer look at her photo. That’s when I thought “I can’t mess this up“

Thankfully, I didn’t! We talked for a bit and she did something I hadn't encountered before. She asked for us to FaceTime before meeting. I thought it went really well, and little did I know that she did too. Once meeting up I saw her as I walked in the coffee shop and thought…”dang, she’s really pretty!” Some things never change I guess! I still think she’s really pretty, in fact I think she’s gotten even more beautiful since I’ve met her.

Our dates continued and we learned a lot about each other. It was all fun and games until one day we were sitting in Texas road house she asked me “What are we?” Well I wish I had said “We’re together now!” I instead said “I have a few more theological questions for my pastor”. Not the best response…I know. But she stuck with me! Thankfully it wasn’t too long before we were sitting in a Barnes and Noble parking lot. I handed her, my hands shaking like crazy, a Mickey Mouse book mark. It was a poem about how I wanted her to be mine. She said yes!!!

We continued to do all the couple things. We talked, kissed, hugged, fought, made up, and finally I decided to do something.

It was August 17th, and I had it all planned out. I told Morgan that there was an interfaith event going on at a church in Rochester. I went all out making a fake Facebook ad that I sent her, I hired her friend (and now bridesmaid) Brittany to capture the moment, had Edan’s (MOH) help, and had Kenzie's (Bridesmaid) help with Morgan’s schedule. We walked around downtown Rochester for a minute or two and thankfully I kept a cool head, but when we walked in front of the bench (the same one she told me she loved me at just 1 year earlier) I hit the ground. And I’m so proud to say she said yes!
