Our Story

Our Story... A Summary

Picture of Our Story... A Summary

Will and Morgan met while working at HoneyRock Camp in the summer of 2018. Will was a counselor for the Residential program, and Morgan was the Drama Instructor. After a summer of interesting haircuts (Man Camp), Taco Bell runs, and a midnight encounter with a large deer... The two went their separate ways. Will went back to Wheaton College and Morgan returned to Geneva for her second year at Waubonsee Community College.

Throughout the next year, Will would occasionally text Morgan for haircutting services. These were fun, but short get togethers full of great conversation but nothing more. When Morgan left for Bethel University, these ended too.

Let us fast forward to June of 2021... Morgan was attending an event at Island Park in Geneva and ran into Will who was at the same event with a mentee. They had a great time catching up (and locating Wills missing wallet), but again, went their separate ways.

Now heres where the story really begins...
August 2023. Will moves to Geneva and, remembering that Morgan lived there, decided to text her to make sure.

What are the odds that you still live in Geneva?

Spoiler Alert: She did

They met up for lunch two days later, both thrilled to reconnect, neither knowing the future that would come. Lunch turned into meeting the pupper, and learning that they lived right across the street from each other! They continued to spend time together over the next few weeks. That time spent together drew them closer and finally, they officially started dating on September 10, 2023.

Morgan claims to be very difficult to surprise, so when Will decided to propose, what better way than to challenge that very belief and pull of the most epic surprise of their lives? Coordinating for months, Will worked behind the scenes to not only plan the perfect engagement, but also get their friends and families together for an engagement party.

Will told Morgan to make sure she blocked off September 14th on her calendar for family Christmas card photos - she did confirm this with him just about a billion times. Will had friends and family alike throwing Morgan off the scent with distractions and diversions.

Once the day finally arrived, they drove down to Indiana together to meet everyone and found out that the timing was delayed while already halfway there. Will suggested they use the extra time to play one of the board games they had brought with them while they waited for the others to arrive. Will led Morgan to the agreed upon location and they began to set up the blanket and game, but when Will opened the box, he brought out the ring instead! The whole weekend had been a ruse and, thoroughly surprised, Morgan said YES!!

The second surprise came when they returned to find their friends and families gathered together to celebrate their engagement. Morgan was overjoyed (and very surprised for a second time). The couple cant wait to start this new chapter!

Now comes their next adventure together...
