Morgan and Walter both grew up in Sugar Land, TX, where they both attended St. Laurence Catholic Church, First Colony Middle School, and Clements High School. They even rode the bus together on the first days of high school, where Morgan built up the courage to sit next to Walter and start a conversation. That only happened twice, but they never forgot that moment.
Early in 2021, Morgan saw an article written about Walter regarding his career accomplishments and thought, “Hey, I remember this guy!”. She decided to message him on Instagram, telling him how impressed she was, and they instantly reconnected and couldn’t stop messaging each other. They had plenty to connect on since they are both Mechanical Engineers and enjoyed exploring Houston. They texted each other day and night for several weeks until, eventually, Walter worked up the courage to ask Morgan on a proper date. Their first date started with a rigorous hike through Memorial Park and later a refreshing drink at Karbach Brewing, where they sat for 5 hours talking, laughing and catching up. That date and every date after that have been so fun and have felt like magic!
Walter planned an entire day for Morgan starting with a sunrise picnic at Memorial Park that encountered a bit of rain but was still magical. He made a picnic for Morgan, including a photo album of their memories and asked her to marry him with hidden photographers ready to capture the moment!
After Morgan said yes, Walter then had a whole day planned from visiting the Houston Zoo to a drink at their favorite brewery and a delicious lunch at a local favorite. Finally, Walter, with a lot of help from his family, surprised Morgan with an engagement party at his parent's home in Sugar Land, TX.
We both went to First Colony Middle School and Clements High School! It is crazy to us that we were probably near each other a lot and never knew! We are so thankful and blessed that our paths have crossed.
Morgan did! She went for it and messaged him on Instagram!
Walter invited Morgan over to make pizza at his townhome and it was so fun! He bought all the ingredients to make pizza dough and toppings! We have some funny pictures of our pizza creations. That night Morgan also met Walter's cousins, Benji and Eric, she remembers being super nervous!
We love doing everything together, but some of our favorites include cooking, playing tennis, swimming, reading, traveling, cheering for the Astros and watching Gordon Ramsay cooking shows.
We are in the process of planning a trip to Italy!
We have been so lucky to have gone on some amazing trips, but one we will never stop talking about is going to Disney World and Universal and being adult children. We have amazing memories in each park (including drinking around the world in Epcot and making light sabers in Star Wars' Galaxy Edge) and in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. We also went to Hawaii twice and they were amazing trips exploring the islands!
Volunteering in our local community! We are both avid volunteers having donated our time to the Houston Food bank, local pet shelters, and tree planting and nature restoration efforts. Morgan is currently the Volunteer lead for her company's young professional network and her branch!
A brewery in Houston called True Anomaly, we go here every week for trivia and they know our name there!
