Our Wedding

We like to say our love story began with a swipe—but in truth, we believe it was God’s perfect timing that brought us together. We met on Hinge, and we knew from the start that our relationship was something different. Even though we met a little later in life, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. We were both ready, open, and in a place where we could recognize the gift we’d been given in each other. God knew exactly when to bring our paths together.

It is located in Romulus, a Detroit suburb. It is a very nice airport with plenty of flight options. Detroit is only 45 minutes from Monroe, Michigan.

The Toledo airport is 45 minutes from Monroe, MI. The Toledo Airport is quite small, thus, Detroit's international airport likely offers better flight options, however, the Toledo airport offers many flights to and from Florida.

How do guests RSVP, and what’s the deadline for responses?

We’ve made it easy to RSVP online! Please visit the RSVP tab on this wedding website to let us know if you’ll be celebrating with us. Kindly respond by Saturday October 18th so we can finalize all the details for a wonderful day together. We look forward to celebrating with you!

Can I bring a guest or a plus-one?

We’re so excited to celebrate with each of you! Due to space and planning considerations, we’re only able to accommodate the specific guests listed on your RSVP page. If your invitation includes a guest or “plus one,” it will be indicated as such when you RSVP on the website (i.e. Steven Shier and Steven's guest). We kindly ask that you only RSVP for those named on the RSVP page invitation. Thank you so much for understanding—we can’t wait to celebrate together!

I want to contribute to a larger gift, how can I do that?

Our dream is to go on a honeymoon to Iceland!! If you would like to contribute towards purchasing one of the Iceland experiences listed on our registry, you can contribute to the honeymoon fund and write in the “Messages” which experience you want to contribute towards! We will use all of those contributions to buy the Iceland experiences listed! For those who prefer giving a traditional gift, we’re registered at Amazon and a few items at Target. For items purchased on Amazon, you can contribute to pay a portion of the total for larger gifts. (And if you happen to find a great deal—like an open-box or lightly discounted version—that works perfectly for us, too! I appreciate a good bargain.) What should I wear to the wedding?

The dress code is business casual. We’d love for guests to be comfortable while still dressing for a special occasion. Outfits such as dresses, skirts, dress pants, collared shirts, or jackets are perfect choices. We would love it if guests wore floral prints, pastels, pinks, and purples! But no white/beige!

Are the ceremony and reception at the same location?

The ceremony and reception will take place at two different venues. The ceremony will be held at Water to Wine Venue and Hall at 12810 Lulu Rd, Ida, MI 48140, and the reception will follow at River Raisin Banquet Center at 8 N Monroe St, , Monroe, MI, 48162.

Is it OK for guests to take photos or share on social media?

We appreciate all the wonderful moments guests want to capture! Please be mindful of our professional photographers by avoiding obstructing their shots and turning off phone flashes during key moments. We kindly ask guests to respect the vibe of the day—try to stay present and enjoy the experience rather than being glued to phones. Regarding social media, please feel free to share pictures of our day! We kindly ask that you also upload any pictures that you take to our shared photo album, which you can access via a QR code that will be posted at the venue. We would love to see all of the pictures that you take! Thank you for helping us make the day memorable for everyone!

How to change or update an RSVP after submitting?

If you need to update your RSVP on The Knot, simply revisit the RSVP page where you originally responded (the tab are the top labeled "RSVP"). Your previous response should appear, allowing you to make changes. If the site doesn’t load your original RSVP, try clearing your browser cache or using a different device or browser. If you continue to have trouble, feel free to contact us regarding your change in RSVP status.

What is the parking situation like? Should we carpool?

Yes, please carpool with other guests if you can! We are expecting a large gathering and parking will be limited so please try to coordinate with others and drive together if possible.  Reception Venue - River Raisin: Public Parking is available behind the building. Public parking is also available across the street. Parking is free. Do not park in the Subway parking lot. Enter through the front door of the building. The reception hall is one flight up. If you need a handicap accessible entrance, enter through the back of the building. Follow the signs for the handicap entrance. There is an elevator that will take you up to the reception hall (first floor).
