Since nearly 95% of the world's BOURBON supply is made in and / or around the Louisville area, Louisville is known as "The Bourbon City" and is officially the 1st Leg of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. There are 37 distilleries along the Bourbon Trail and the official starting point is Frazier History Museum, said to be "where the world meets Kentucky." Although Bourbon is not a location-specific product, to be considered Kentucky bourbon, it must be produced in the state - both distilled and aged.
