Morgan & John

August 15, 2025 • Sonoma, CA

For fun, we had Morgan's mom ask the bride and groom some questions *separately* and compared their answers! Here's what they had to say...

Tell me about the first time you met. What do you distinctly remember?

J: The first time I met Morgan, it was at my apartment. She was there with all of her friends, but she was actually there because we had some mutual friends and I had seen a photo of Morgan and thought she was cute. I remember she looked nice, and had a really nice smile with her pearly white teeth. I wanted to get to know her, and I was smitten right away.

M: We had just gotten back from break going into sophomore year of college. My friend, Remy, invited us all over to his apartment for all of us to see each other after being gone for so long. I was debating on whether or not I wanted to go, but some of my friends convinced me. They also told me Remy's new roommate may or may not have a little crush on me... we just laughed about it but decided to go anyway! I didn't think he was actually going to talk to me, but John came up to me after a few minutes and we talked for the rest of the night. I remember he was very confident and charismatic. He was super charming.

When did you realize you loved each other, and that he/she was "the one?"

J: It wasn't a specific moment, but as we spent more time together I was able to get to know more of Morgan. Every time we were together, I looked forward to seeing her more and more. We both knew we liked each other, but after a while we both knew it was more than that. Did we know we were going to get married right then? No. But I always kinda knew in the back of my mind that we would...

M: I think I knew it was serious when I just never wanted to leave when we were together. I really enjoyed talking to him, and it was so comfortable and came really naturally. But, I knew I wanted to marry him when it felt like no time together was ever enough. Even doing the mundane things, or challenging things in life, I always felt myself wanting him by my side.

What is your favorite trip you've taken together?

J: I mean, our Chicago trip was the best. We had so much fun then.

M: One of my favorite trips- and memories- with John was a camping trip we went on with our good friends Remy and Riley when we were in college. It was just such a good time, and they are two really special people to us. Also, Chicago was so fun, obviously, because thats when we got engaged! I just felt like I was in this bubble and didn't care about anything else in the world in that moment. We were so present, and it was so special.

What are your shared dreams for the future?

J: Well getting married, and building a family overtime; growing closer to each other, and God. I know we want to continue to make new memories, traveling the world and enjoying our time together.

M: I mean, John and I talked about wanting kids on our second date so that's always been a big dream of ours when the time is right. We've both always dreamed of being a mom or dad. We both value traveling, spending time with our families, and spending quality time together. There's not much we would put above our families.

Is there a special song that reminds you of each other?

J: 'Cigarette Daydreams' is a song we'd always play when I was driving Morgan back to the Zeta house after leaving my apartment. We'd always sit in the car and wait for the car to warm up, and belt that song together. It's a sweet memory.

M: There is a song that we joke about being "our song" but it's definitely not a love song... it's called 'Cigarette Daydreams.' It's a song that we would listen to when I was leaving John's house late at night in college and it was freezing cold outside. We would turn up the music and wait for the car to heat up, and then he would drive me back to the Zeta house. When that song comes on, it just transports me back to that moment.

What is the one thing you love most about each other?

J: She's a sweet and caring individual. She loves well.

M: Oh let me think... I always say the thing I love the most about John is that he always makes everyone feel so seen and so special. He lives to make other people laugh and smile.

What's your ideal date night?

J: I'd say just going out and doing something new. We love trying new restaurants and new foods, then going back home and just having good conversation.

M: Dinner and drinks! I love getting dressed up, trying a new dinner spot and then going home and watching a movie.

What are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?

J: I just think it's the start of a new chapter. I can't wait to wake up and call her my wife, and love her everyday from there on out. The wedding is going to be so fun, and I can't wait to celebrate with everyone, but this is the beginning of something new. That's what means the most to me.

M: On the actual wedding day, I'm most looking forward to sitting down and having dinner with everyone... just looking around a seeing everyone that has been there in so many different stages of our lives and that mean so much to us. I think thats the moment I'm looking forward to the most, and one of the moments I'll always remember!
