I remember meeting Morgan for the first time. I remember where it was, how she was sitting (incredible posture), the shoes she was wearing, the speed at which her nails tapped on her laptop keyboard, but most of all…I remember her smile. The kind of smile that lights up a room and certainly one I wouldn’t forget.

Morgan was living in New York and I was in town for a work trip and had stopped by the office. At the time, it was just a passing “hello, nice to meet you in person after countless emails and calls” – but there was something about her. I couldn’t put my finger on it but alas, after that introduction, we went our separate ways.

Years passed.

The world endured a pandemic. Morgan moved to Wisconsin and then back to Nashville. I suffered through 13 months in Los Angeles.

And in November 2021, our worlds collided yet again.

Morgan posted a photo on Instagram from a Friendsgiving, in a pink velour track suit no less, and I had to respond - or as the kids call it “slide into her DMs”. We talked every day culminating in my convincing her, on a whim, to take a trip to San Diego. What was supposed to be a weekend, turned into a week and a half in San Diego – I just couldn’t let her leave. She was too good to be true. We were having too much fun, which I’m proud to report, hasn’t changed one bit.

And here we are, nearly 2 and a half years later, planning for the most joyous day of our lives.

And for all the above, I am eternally grateful, because it led me to her and my dear Morgan, there is “no heart for me like yours”.
